Speculation of series 2: The Anti Gwen Edition
Warnings: Possible series 2 spoilers and one minor swear word.
I have heard that there will be an episode called The Wedding that is another Gwen centric episode, wasn’t Random Shoes enough! There is also a rumor that Gwen will become pregnant with an alien baby and will try to hide it. Since we all know how much the writers love Gwen there can only be one logical conclusion; the day of Gwen’s wedding Rhys will find out about the baby, call off the wedding and Gwen will be painted as a sympathetic victim, with lots of sobbing. As much as I think he is too good for her and should leave her lying cheating arse, I would rather not see that happen. If that does happen Gwen grief could become the biggest story arch of the series; at least until Jack falls into her arms and he declares his undying love. Knowing how much of a Mary Sue she is Gwen might just become immortal so she and Jack could be together forever.
I'd love to know what everyone thinks.

I'd rather blame the writers as I'm an RTD girl but I do agree, Gwen is always going to be an annoying Mary Sue that the sensible, inteligent fans hate. She is probably the most annoying character ever written; how can the writers not see how asolutely appaling that character is?!

'how can the writers not see how asolutely appaling that character is?!' I've been thinking about that and the only explanation I can come up with is that it is like people who write bad fanfic, they really can't tell how bad her character is.
It is sad when you think about how much better Torchwood could have been if they had focused a little less on Gwen and I little more on everyone else, I know for a fact that she got the most screen time of all the characters INCLUDING Jack.

Emphasis on the straight.

'm starting to think executive producer means: "I came up with the ideas but sold off too much power and am now at the mercy of BBC straight laced attitudes. Emphasis on the straight.'
Emphasis on straight, indeed. At at least there was 15 seconds of Jack/Ianto in series one, I doubt it will be in series two at all.
