Ok I need to have this little rant about Gwen...But a warning. Spoilers for the Torchwood book Border Princess and Season 1.

I am about half way through reading Border Princess (which is set in the Ye Olde Days of series 1) and am filled with outrage!

There is this character called James...Who is on the Torchwood team.

And guess who is having a relationship with this newest member of the team...Yes you guessed it...GWEN!

Ok is it just me but Gwen can not bloody keep it in her pants (even though she doens't have it in her pants)

She cheats on Rhys with Owen...Now this new bloke...She's still making google-eyes at Jack...DOES THIS WOMAN EVER STOP!?!

I mean...Poor Rhys...I think he's a decent bloke. He really loves her and she treats him like this. Rhys was willing to get shot for her adn this is how she repays him!?!Type your cut contents here.

I couldn't believe what was happening in that book either. I havn't read it for ages so i can't remember why gwen and rhys split up (probally Gwen's fault) but i rember being so annoyed at that and then gwen had the cheek to move in with the New Guy. It was so stupid. Stupid Gwen :P

Here we go again--women are bloody cows who will sleep with anything---Gwen's character is seriously derogatory to women----and RTD has the bloody ---whatever the word is--- to invent this character--he obviously is a Gay man who hates women--unlike JB--and the other writers and Eve have swallowed his crap----

Have had a long day----there were puddles in the Park and my two youngest were in EVERY one. The older of the two, they are both under three, kept shouting to the younger "Puddle BJ". It seemed harmless fun at the time, watching them splash---

I agree. I wrote a review for this same book on my LJ and it was very similar to yours...

Only I implied she was sleeping her way to Jack and Ianto was next on her list.

RUN IANTO RUN hahaha

Blah....Gwen in this book is very...blah.

"I'm not worried about Ianto...He's got better taste than that."

THANK GOD for smart welshmen in cute suits XD
...oh dear, I think my inner Jack just came out...

That must be why Ianto is such a fast runner. He's in training for the day when Gwen decides that it's his turn ;-)

OMG...It al makes sense now!!
Poor Ianto...May he never trip and fall when that say comes!
....unless it's Jack chasing him, in which case.... ;p

I ought to say that I have never actually read much of this book--and now I don't want to---the last time I started to read it my daughter yelled that she had used the last bit of loo paper and could I give her some more and Rhys hit BJ on the head with a toy Pirate--

In Gwen's vague defense, this was before Rhys took the bullet for her.

But for the love of god woman, your first response to your boyfriend getting pissy with you about coming home late and beatup shouldn't be to storm out and sleep with your co-worker who is obviously either a marysue or an alien(in this case both). Stupid Gwen.

I only bought the book because it looked like Jack was going to blow that guy's head off on the cover picture. Then I spent two weeks struggling through, trying to finish so I could find out what the hell James was. Luckily my ire was mostly placated by my super liberal classmate agreeing with me that Gwen was seriously messed up, and I wasn't just being an uptight conservative.

Then I read Almost Perfect...

Ah, I think I read that one before TW was on BBC America, so all I had to go on was a knowledge of Jack from DW and a rough character listing and nothing seemed crazy out of ordinary for me. I'm now rereading it to feel the full pain. Sounds like there's some Gwen-hatin' to be had during lunch!
