As to what fans can expect from police liaison Gwen in season three, Myles teased with a laugh. "Oh, Gwen!" she said. "She just keeps evolving into something that is always real, always grounded, always gracious and will always be in awe of everything she sees. She'll never lose that, because she's not a superhero and she doesn't have magic powers. She's me and you. So she's constantly evolving and getting stronger and becoming the born leader she was always meant to be, and in this [season] it becomes more evident. You see her struggling and becoming bigger and better, and also falling on her face ... literally. We see Gwen becoming exactly what she was destined to become with Torchwood.

Huh? It doesn't sound like she has any idea what Gwen is doing this season...you know, other than she's awesome and really in sekrit Torchwood's real leader *rolls eyes*

I swear I remember an interview where she said Gwen was Wonder Woman at some point.

I'm just not sure what she was destined to become with Torchwood, I mean surely a fellow worker or a friend possibily. Not the leader or the heart, she's no more brilliant than Ianto is or Tosh and Owen where.

I agree - all I see her becoming is better at what she does currently. Other than taking Jack's place as leader, I have no idea what else she could be and Eve makes it sound like it's some sort of super-important evolution of the character in the series.

I will pitch a fit if she develops some super-alien power and that's what she evolves into *ugh*

I think that if, after the death of Tosh and Owen she learnt a bit of fear of the job and carried on as she has been, then I think that it would develop okay... but if she becomes the perfect leader, well I just don't think that its her.

I'm sure that Gwen would be good within a supporting/action role working with others, but it appears that the writers are trying to force her into the brilliant role.

Oh that was a rant.

I can sort of understand the 'she's me and you' remark, meaning that she joined Torchwood by accident, she's not speically trained for it, she's not a genius (Tosh) or experienced loss because of aliens (Owen and Ianto) which makes them stronger.

But Gwen just sort of wandered in because she was interested about Torchwood, plain and simple.

But that does stop her becoming a leader, becuase that was never her job, or her talent, her talent is to be... this sounds like I'm on Gwen's side... but Human.

If the writer's stopped pushing her as the heart and the soul and the emotion of Torchwood and we got to see her acting like she did as a PC then I'd like her more.

...Becoming the born leader she was meant to be?!?! ...Surly that is a misquote. Gwen...leading?!?!? Yea when Hell freezes over.

No paper work would get done or they would make Ianto do it...the whole bloody world would be taken over by aliens in a flash because Gwen dithered ot was too busy screwing someone (who's not Rhys) and didn't get out of bed.

I have a strong objection to Gwen/Eve saying she is like me and you. I am nothing like either of them. I left home at 18 and traveled around the World ON MY OWN, got two Honors degrees, married and now have 4 kids and speak 4 languages.

I may have done everything before I met my Husband but I certainly have not thrown myself at other men since the very day I met him.

I don't lie and cheat either.

Why doesn't Eve know Gwen is a self centered bitch? Other Actors have played these type of roles and acknowledged their characters shortcomings. Why can't she? She seems to be living in some sort of dream world------

I am really sick and tired of reading about Eve saying how wonderful Gwen is and how she is the Natural Leader of Torchwood etc. I wish she would just shut up because she is making me dislike her and I don't want to--I just want to loathe Gwen---
