redismycolour, but I needed to do some serious writing therapy after work tonight.
The idea came to him, oddly enough, after Gwen had – once again – broken the rules and gotten away with it. Indeed, instead of being punished like the rest of the, she’d all but been rewarded and sent home early to her damnable boyfriend. Jack had buggered off as well, leaving Ianto, Tosh and Owen to do clean up.
Owen had managed to talk them into going ‘round to a pub afterwards. And on Tochwood’s dime, too, which mean that Ianto was starting to have had enough of darling PC Cooper and Captain Harkness as well.
“I bet they’re shagging,” Tosh put in, glaring at her glass of wine. She could be pretty catty when she had enough alcohol.
“That would explain it,” Owen grumbled.
“They’re not,” Ianto said, and it was spoken with such finality that the other two looked at him curiously. He’d only been back on the job for a few weeks since the whole Cyberwoman thing, and while Jack had urged for them to be sympathetic, Owen was still finding it a little hard to be so trusting of the guy who knew everything but that they knew nothing about.
“… She’s being monitored,” he said after a moment. “Standard protocol. All new Torchwood agents are watched for at least three months, to make sure they can handle the stress and that they won’t spill secrets.”
Owen’s thoughts turned inward as they went back to nursing their drinks. That kiss when they thought they were going to die was hot. Gwen wanted to give it up. And if Jack wasn’t touching, but he sure as hell was looking…
“Well, I’m off,” Owen said, pushing back from the bar. He downed the rest of his drink, the bottle leaving a hollow thonk on the polished wood. “Work tomorrow morning. Bloody Brecon Beacons.”

Like this one - although I think Ianto is a bit optimistic. Even if his reasoning does have some truth in it. Wishful thinking? ;)

I'm glad that you liked it... Ianto was so adamant that they weren't screwing because Ianto's the one doing the monitoring. *laughs*

And yes. I'm sort of in the mood for a bit of Gwen-bashing after Eve's little mollycoddling comment.
