In an interview JB said that series 3 would be about the three core team members.
Why I don't want to see a real Torchwood three way with Jack, Ianto and Gwen.
1. Ianto is the only man on the show who ISN'T in love/infatuated with her. Having him sleep with her would make her a Canon!Mary Sue* (more so than she already is).
2. I really don't want to see her cheat on Rhys *again*. The writers may have forgotten about her affair with Owen, but I haven't. Maybe I could have gotten over it if she had actually suffered ANY consequences for it at all.
*Mary Sue: The author may seem to push how exceptional and wonderful the 'Mary Sue' character is on his or her audience, sometimes leading the audience to dislike or even resent the character fairly quickly; such a character could be described as an 'author's pet'.
Feel free to tell me you think.

Ianto has more sense than that. (Hopefully)

Yes. Sleeping with Gwen would be about 12 feet completely out of Ianto's personality range. That's not who he is.

'Ianto has more sense than that. (Hopefully)' Yeah, you would hope, but than I thought PC Andy had more sense too.

Although! I am nervous about what Julie Gardner said about how series 3 would have the team dealing with "decisions regarding their professional and personal lives." I really don't want Jack and Ianto to break up. I don't want Ianto or Jack to step down or leave completely. And I don't want Gwen to break up with Rhys. (Although I wouldn't mind Gwen stepping down as second in command. :D As long as that doesn't precede a scene where Jack recites his undying love towards her and how he "needs" her and other such nonsense).

Oh yes, I've stopped watching shows for much, much less. If you don't mind me asking; what show was it?

'Though hopefully with Torchwood, Gwen won't get her claws into a main character like Lana did. x_x Blech.'
Yeah, as much as it pains me to say this; if the writers *really* feel the need to pair her with someone I hope it's PC Andy- and here I thought she was supposed to be paired with Rhys.

*heh* I don't think it will happen; it would just be *too* OOC for Ianto. My mind just tends to go to the worst possible scenario when I hear stuff like that.

Though there's a small part of me dreading that a five part series is the perfect length to break-up Jack and Ianto. I swear to GOD if there's any Janto break-up and a matching Gewn/Rhys break-up I refuse to watch this shit after that.

I hope you're right, Martha does know all about unrequited love, but with the way every character seems to love Gwen, Martha and Gwen will probably become the best of friends. You'd think that the writers would have learned by now that when you write a character that everyone just loves, the viewers tend to hate them.

You're not the only one. I've always said that if they break up Jack/Ianto just to put Jack with Gwen that will be the last episode I'll ever watch; especially if a Jack/Ianto break up leads to Ianto's death.

i'm more worried about mickey though, i hope to god he notices what a bitch she is instead of ~falling for her~

You would think so. I was hoping that PC Andy wouldn't fall for her, but he did and she was horrible to him. If I had to guess I'd say that Mickey will fall for her and Martha and Gwen become best friends.

That was a really, really polite way of saying something completely different!

Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I actually found Canon!Mary Sue on wikipedia and have just been waiting to work it into a post- apparently Canon!Mary Sues pop up quite a bit is sci-fi shows.
