Taking Gwen Out of the Picture

...literally.

I recently started learning gimp (free version of photoshop), and I decided that ridding the team of Gwen would be the best way to practice editing pictures.

Please keep in mind that I just started about a week ago, and I'm not very good at this. I'm posting these 'fixed' pictures here because I think despite the subpar editing job, you'll find them amusing.

(I really, really hope this isn't some kind of copyright violation...)

Due to my very limited gimp skills, the background in this pictured suffered quite a bit.



Toshiko looks so pretty in this picture!



Suzie would have made a much better agent than Gwen.







Owen in skinny jeans!



I didn't have the skills to salvage the background in this picture so I removed it altogether.







I fixed Jack's shoulder in the 'after' pic.



I like this one. Ianto wasn't present in the original season 1 poster; I fixed that.

I hope they're not in violation of copyright either because I'd hate to see them disappear - you've done a great job - and not just because you made Gwen vanish, but because I think some of the pics actually look better with one less person in them.

#4 is the only one that looks a bit odd in the 'improved' version but then it's more than made up for by the last one, where you have done the best job ever, replacing Gwen with Ianto - should have happened much more in the actual show :) Hi 5!

So much better. loved crouching Jack; especially the last one because Ianto has replaced Gwen. Good luck, hope to see more. Suggestion, Gwen mooning over dead Jack - if there's a suitable pic - again replaced by Ianto.

Love them! The second one looks so much better with Ianto behind Jack's shoulder and I love that you've replaced Gwen with Iantyo in the last one. They are all very much improved with Ms Cooper looking down her nose at everyone. Honestly, she looks so arrogant in most of those pictures.

Very true! Torchwood didn't need Gwen. she served no useful purpose and did nothing to help, just got in the way, upset people and made Torchwood's job more difficult. She should be erased from the entire show.

Gwen excels at being a liability. She always needs rescuing. Tosh is way more kick-ass!

These are just plain awesome, especially the last one. I hated that poster because they completely disregarded Ianto (which they did in the show anyway, I don't know why I expected it to be different in the adverts) and you've improved it 1000%

You are being far too modest about your skills. These are awesome! I applaud both your talent and your passion for making the world a Gwen-free environment.

Looking at the "before" and the "after" photos, once can really see how extraneous she is. In #3 the team is nicely balanced with Suzie (who I agree would have made a far better regular character, no Gwen required). And I adore the last one, where Ianto is backing up Jack, as it should be.
