On the com [livejournal.com profile] badsexfest, there is currently a prompt which could, with a little bit of effort, become a gorgeous Gwen-bash fic. It will require creativity in the execution, but the potential is enormous. It's not my writing speed, but I really want to see it written, and I bet someone on here could do it justice.

Here it is! http://badsexfest.livejournal.com/1908.html?thread=25972#t25972

Crack/badfic ahoy! If anyone wants to write this, I will be an eager cheerleader/beta. I may even write a fic in gratitude...

KGal would have a COW - because she is a Gwak shipper, LOL.

That would be absolutely brilliant, especially given the prompter. *laughing*

And, you know, she didn't specify no bashing... *laughs some more*

Although her icon made me want to throw up just a little in my mouth. I am not able to unsee that, and my laptop with all my lovely Janto pics on it is in the shop. *cries*

Never mind the icon, I need some brain bleach just from reading the prompt! Ewww....

*ack*
karaokegal... go figure. She's all about the gwack, and everything she writes has Gwen as the sole object of Jack's obsession, Jack as an inveritable bastard, and Ianto as a poor, pathetic little sycophant who is kidding himself that Jack has any real feelings for him.
I tend to try and avoid her stuff, because it just pisses me off. However, I would love to see someone twist that prompt around, just to get a reaction! Won't be me, though, I'm afraid. Unless Jack kills Gwen in it, it'd just turn my stomach. And I can't even get my head around "Jack waiting for her for so long"... bleugh...

Actually, I think the thing about karaokegal's writing that really pisses me off, above and beyond all else, is the way she insists her portrayals of Ianto and Jack are "Real!Ianto" and "Real!Jack". Sorry, but that is bullshit. That is HER interpretation only, and I think both John Barrowman and Gareth David-Lloyd would take exception to it. Plus, I've lost count of the number of times that Barrowman himself has said that Jack would never, EVER initiate an intimate relationship with Gwen.

Boy, the House of the Dead radio play must have seriously pissed her off. Not only did Jack admit his love for Ianto and was prepared to let the world go to hell in exchange for getting Ianto back, but it's officially Torchwood canon, approved by the BBC!
*insert evil laughter*

What really pissed me off is when she started posting in the JackxIanto community.... wtf?! I remember reading her last fic there and someone getting very pissed off that it blatantly wasn't a Janto fic. I've avoided her stuff like the plague since.

Please, if someone can take this prompt and make a mockery of it, that would be amazing. Maybe it's post-COE (which didn't happen...) and he's pretending she's Ianto? That's why he gets over-excited? If someone can do it, I'll gladly burn my 50p Gwen action figure in celebration.

How about the old, "alien influence made him do it"? Or it wasn't Jack, an alien took over his body. Or... Rhys overhears them talking about some alien tech they recovered that can do body swaps (or some sort of shape shifting) and decides to test Gwen's feelings once and for all.

Yeah, so Janto are away on a romantic weekend when Rhys pretends to be Jack. At the end of the story, they return and Gwen is horrified to see another Jack walk in. Her first thoughts are that she has been having sex with an alien. The truth is even more horrible. Her life is destroyed. And as usual, Ianto has the last word in his typical way. "I've had this fantasy..."

Okay, it may not be exactly the prompt, but I can't get past the "Jack wanting her for so long" part. There is a limit to believability even in fiction!

Apologies - you're right, of course. I think the problem is that we all saw an opportunity for catharsis, and grabbed hold like the proverbial drowning man clutching at straw.

I agree about the 'hate the sin but blah blah the sinner' but sometimes the wee devil on my shoulder agrees with a touch wack a mole.
