Hello everyone

first is this type of posting is not allowed please email me and delete it. If it is...

I was on Amazon.com tonight, I found Torchwood action figures....I looked through them and I found that Ianto is sold for 34.99, Tosh for 25, Jack for between 15-22.95, Owen does not have a price and finally...Gwen Copper for....19.99

She is the cheapest figure on Amazon....Ianto being the most expensive one.

Ianto rules again

Well, we always knew she was both cheap, and plastic, this just goes to prove our point.

Well, they can't sell MD- virtually have to give it away or tack it onto something else.....

One of the sad things is that they never offered an Owen figure for sale. I wrote to the company and they had a prototype but it never got released -- I think because he got killed off before they got around to "Wave 3" of the Torchwood figures. I have all the ones available and most of the other action figure sites sold out of Ianto (and Tosh) very quickly. Gwen was frequently on sale because she didn't sell as well. Hehehehe!

Haha, I can do better than that. I went to TK Maxx here in the UK about 2 years ago and found a Gwen action figure for £3. I think that says it all...

No, but I kinda wish I had, just to do evil things to it... On the plus side, I now have 1 Ianto, 3 10th Doctor's and 4 different Jacks!

well I think I would have bought an Owen (if it would be easier to get them on this side of the planet), even on my later Cardiff Trips (since the DW show was closed/moved to London) I could find close to nothing about Torchwood at shops like Forbidden Planet. I have Ianto and Jack (the terrible cross eyed version).

The page that showed up on FB, where you can buy Red Faction figures, also has some Torchwood stuff, if I remember correctly the only figure not sold out was Gwen.

Though I have to admit I would have bought one for 3 Pounds on TK Maxx.....only to do horrible things to it.

Sorry to burst ya all's bubbles but I found a doll of Gwen on Amazon for $130. It is sold by Robert's Anime Corner and called a Tonner Doll. Another buying choice was Toyshiek and they are selling it for $209. I can't see paying that for anything, especially her. Makes me gag.

Amazon also had a Tonner Doll of Jack for $399, weighing only 3 pounds so it can't be too big. Disgusting what they charge, and people will pay for things.

A Gwen doll at $130?? Even at the present exchange rate that's £84!! The mind boggles- just who would pay that??

130$ and still not selling for as much as a Jack-doll does :p

I think those dolls are the size of a Barbie doll (and f**king ugly if I may add), the action figures are a lot smaller. I also think that when they first came out the price was either 160$ or 190$ (could have been €, but there's not that much difference these days). I remember discussing somewhere that it was way too much money for a very unattractive version of a Barbie and that we could totally understand if the actors sew the company that made them.

They are "Tonner" dolls- http://www.toniscollectibles.com/cgi-bin/store/TNSstore.cgi. They asked them to make a Ianto but they had not been asked by the Beeb so they did not- their mistake.....
The fact that they still have some of these dolls for sale, when the Ianto one was guaranteed to be a sell out, speaks for itself, I think.
