This weekend I attended Hub 7 in London, which was awesome! I just thought the AGA members would like to know some of the reactions to Miracle Day from die-hard Torchwood fans.
Out of everyone I spoke to, and I’m pretty out going, I didn’t find anyone who enjoyed Miracle Day as Torchwood. I spoke to about 2 people who thought it was entertaining to watch, but both of said it wasn’t Torchwood. Everyone else I spoke to thought it was atrocious. Even the people dressed in those masks from Miracle Day agreed it was shit! They said, “We’re dressed as the soulless as Miracle Day sucked out our souls.”
One of the highlights of the weekend was definitely meeting John Barrowman. He’s so amazing! The thing I wanted to talk to you about was his reaction (and indeed the audience’s reaction) to a certain question asked. It went something like this:
“Gwen and Jack have some unresolved sexual tension and the scene in the car in Miracle Day showed this. Do you think they would act on this and start a relationship?” Cue smatterings of loud No’s from the audience.
John said it something like this. Although they may have had some sexual tension, they would never get together and it would never work. He said their kind of love is that of a brother and sister, and that people in love would never say ‘I will rip your skin from your skull.’ Cue rapturous applause.
Another question was quite sneaky, and I loved it. Someone from the audience asked what John would think Jack would have done if he had the choice of who to sacrifice in CoE (basically, would he have got rid of Gwen?). He wouldn’t give us a clear answer as he said it would be up on the forums in no time (yeah, sorry…), but he did say, which again got some applause, ‘Get rid of the girl.’ Excellent.
Another year, another Hub, another brilliant anti-Gwen moment.

Did John say something about S5? I assume the same as usual, still in limbo?
