(I tried to post this at [info]torch_wood but the post was rejected.)

I would like to ask the people who did not like Miracle Day to write to the BBC and let them
know that you would like to see a return to "Classic Torchwood".  Perhaps a return to
Wales, return of old characters, alien of the week, all of the above?  Since Miracle Day
has not done well, this is the perfect time to let the BBC know that you didn't like all the
changes but that you would watch and support a Torchwood that returned to its roots.

If you do write, please post here, I'd love to see if we can get a lot of people to write in.
It never hurts to ask and hey, you never know what might happen!!!

To make this more AGA specific, feel free to point out that Gwen is not needed for a
Torchword :Cardiff, she is free to stay in the USA!

The only problem is that Miracle Crap wasn't BBC, RTD sent it off to Starz. I'm not sure is BBC still has any power over Torchwood anymore, if they do I hope they set it back to "classic" Torchwood. Even if the explanation is something cheesy like John Hart had Jack drugged during Exit Wounds.

YES! We could suggest a 'CSI' type split off, Jack returns to Cardiff to pick up the pieces of Torchwood, again, and SHE can limp along with Gwenwood in the US until they see that she really was the hostile alien sucking the life force out of Torchwood 3.

I often write to the BBC, so they probably think, oh, here is Mrs Sierakowiak again, but they always send a reply {to me anyhow}. I have already written to them about Torchwood Miracle Crap to complain about the violence and the concentration camp scenario, which, to a family like ours, was disgusting. I received a very nice reply.

Aron told Dan it made him feel ill, thinking of family members being gassed etc and his and Dan's Mother didn't watch it, which is just as well. I will write again now and ask for Torchwood back in Cardiff.

Interesting to note that I just read a Telegraph review and they didn't seem to like it much except they said Eve Myles acting was the best in the program. I've always thought she was a pretty weak actress and I have acted. I retired when I was 12 but I do know good acting when I see it and hers isn't it.

Well you know, when you're up again that Mehki Somewhat guy, pale Ester (not sure if it was the actress fault or if she was just written so lame), a JB that's barely in it and only there for terrible sex scenes and Bill Pullman it's not hard to be the best there...

I'm a crap at knitting, but if I would be up against my bros I would win by miles.

My Mother tried to teach me to knit, but I am left handed and was more interested in climbing trees. My older brother Erik can knit however.

As for Torchwood, I didn't watch much of it but I agree with you about the acting. I've seen better acting in my oldest's drama group.

The replies that we get from the Beeb are form replies, I have never received a personal reply to any of my e-mails.
Even so, these comments and complaints are logged by some little gremlin lurking in the bowels of the BBC, then I do believe he eats them- probably the only way to survive down there......

From: [identity profile] jennelldhalrbj.livejournal.com

The one I received said they were sorry about what happened to the Sierakowiak's in the war, apologized for upsetting us and said in drama sometimes upsetting things were a necessary development of the story. If it was a form reply they must have a great many to choose from, which, of course, is a possibility, I guess, but this mail had a personal feel to it.

From: [identity profile] jennelldhalrbj.livejournal.com

I didn't get that bit in my reply. it just said about how drama often could upset certain groups of people, or something like that, and how sorry they were that we were upset.

Aron was absolutely incensed by it and actually wrote a letter complaining to the head of the BBC. He hasn't had a reply! Of course when you know your own Mother was smuggled out of the Warsaw Ghetto and most of her family were gassed and then burnt in an oven it does give you a different look on things.

Interesting to note that the BBC have evidently received hardly any complaints about Violence but hundreds about a loving sex scene. That, to me, says something really unpleasant about our society. People didn't mind their kids, who shouldn't have been watching anyhow, seeing someone being tortured but objected to them seeing pretend sex.

The problem isnt john hart!!

The problem to this whole fecked up situation is Doctor Who and the year that never was. Please tell me i was not the only one imagining it?, when they changed Dr Tom's job from from kids doctor, to AandE doctor. Tom tells Martha he works with kids, but at the end when she rings him the call went AandE.

Re: The problem isnt john hart!!

The would be the same Tom that could somehow exchanged as Marthas fiancee by Mickey in RTDs last DW episodes, huh?

Re: The problem isnt john hart!!

I really liked that Dr Tom Milligan, who was played by the gorgeous Tom Ellis. Why did Rusticle get rid of him? I suspect it is because the handsome Tom Ellis must have turned down the Rusticle's repulsive advances, so he had to go!

Re: The problem isnt john hart!!

Hear, hear! Not to mention that Tom Ellis made Ten look like a hyper-excited child with his mere presence, which was another no-go, I guess. But I hate Ten, so I'm probably biased.

Have you seen Tom Ellis in Merlin? He was amazing as the bad guy. And a king at that.

Re: The problem isnt john hart!!

Tom Ellis in Merlin, oooh yeah! Only, I wish he didn't have to wear that greasy wig.

Tom Ellis is also the gorgeous 'Gary' in Miranda Hart's comedy show.

The way I hear it is that Rusty wanted Martha's name to appear as Smith-Jones in the credits.

Re: The problem isnt john hart!!

I wonder why Rust-o is so obsessed with these two surnames? They are the most common surnames in Anglophone countries, so maybe he thought he'd do something really really clever, like immortalise them in his brilliant, genius show!

Problem was, as most people were either cross about ditching canon or bored by the whole thing (or, like me, not watching) I am not sure anyone except a few stray, hysterical pompoms, actually noticed.
We really need to get together, buy a sheep dog, and round those pompoms up for their own good- we could put them in a shelter, retrain them and find them good homes where their hysterical reaction to totally expected JB can be controlled by daily medication.....

I emailed :) I suggested maybe if they carry on it the same way torchwood us would be a better title, a bit of cheek never hurt xD
