As for the rest of "The Gathering," well, it was what we've come to expect from Torchwood this series, which isn't much. Gwen continues to be a self-righteous ninny--after defending her at the start of the current run, I've finally come around to realizing what the haters were saying from the start.

Hey ho! Boom shakalaka!

All of the sudden we're not that crazy little corner of the fandom anymore.

Funny thing is, if you would've posted something like this say, two years ago, the fans would have killed you for 'Gwen bashing' while now, the comments are mostly directed at bashing the rest of the show.

By the way, now that Jack's said he is tired and that being mortal hurts and now that they've put it in the preview that he's gonna die, I am more and more convinced that he won't. Which makes me a little sad and angry. What the hell are you going to do to give him his life back, show? When we met him, Immortal!jack at least still had his Joie de vivre, now, he's got like nothing.

Damnit RTD, I want you to do the only thing you've been consistent in for the past three seasons, KILL YOUR MAINS ASSHOLE.

Yes, I'll definitely be disappointed too, if Jack doesn't die. If ever anyone needed a mercy killing, it's poor Jack. Which is probably why he won't, RTD only kills off the characters he should keep alive. Would have been a great ending for MD and one of the few good things about it (yeah yet another reason he won't). Being Dr. Who is still sci fi, it wouldn't have to affect CJ being on DW in future either.

It's just great though, that the rest of the world is finally starting to see Gwen for who/what she is. But then that's how it is for people like her (having sadly known some in my life). They can fool people for awhile, but eventually they always show their true colors even to the ones who have blinders on.

thank god not everybody has drank the kool-aid.
i am curious dies anyone else read gallifry base because the kool-aid drinkers are truly not dealing with reality very well.

oops meant does although speaking of gwenwood the word 'dies' is maybe the right choice.

if you go over there check out the 'this is awful tv thread' under the torchwood md, it might just be me but imho the c.j poster is a pompous ass trying to bully md critics under a deluge of words and the refrain of the majority of fans, critics and tv insiders 'love' gwenwood and it's a shame that you are not smart enough to realize how brilliant gwenwood is.

That would be Chris, I'm pretty sure. He's a guy (from Wales, he said), who created a Torchwood FB group about a year ago and invited the SIJ people, saying it would be "friendly to all fans". He then started to insult people, esp. the SIJsers but also everybody else who wasn't looking forward to Miracle Crap. By now he has lots of different personalities and pages on Facebook and Twitter. He comes up with the most enjoyable stories. I remember one of them was that Torchwood is a co-production between the BBC, Starz and Korea (he didn't say if north or south). Basically there's a lot of gobsh!te coming out of him and he loves to stir up the fandom. I wouldn't bother with him. He's a troll and, if you ask me,from having to deal with him a lot for a while online, needs mental help.

The Guardian and After Elton critics appear to be bailing out on the Torchwood Titanic as well. I'm sure there will be a attempts by some diehard fans to say how wonderful the whole was - and it is, if your taste runs toward steamping piles of crap.

Anyone see the episode 9 monster? Its Lolarious! I hope you don't mind, but I'm plugging my 'Name the Alien' Contest here -over on my journal: http://aviv-b.livejournal.com/120439.html
