To be honest, I didn't watch this episode. I wouldn't watch Miracle Crap if they paid me. From seeing the pictures on this articles, I thought Angelo was not good-looking at all. What standards are these people looking at? They must not have high expectations. As to Jack's honesty with him, Jack seems to trust those he really shouldn't (Gwen, Angelo, John Hart, his brother, the Doctor) and not showing that much trust in those he should (Tosh, Owen, Ianto).

Angelo lied and betrayed him and yet we are supposed to believe that he was the greatest love of Jack's life? Jack couldn't trust him!

The guy who played him looked ugly and Gwen looks chunky. I'm glad I kept my resolve not to watch.

Someone posted a comment with this:

"I'm really glad this was included because in this series (since Jack is not in a relationship) there has been a decided lack of Jack's omnisexuality. One of the things that made Jack work for a lot of his fans was that he was shown appreciating women, even tho', outside of Gwen, he was never in a relationship with one."

Will someone explain to me when Jack was in a relationship with Gwen? Looks like this person hasn't paid any attention to Classic Torchwood o.O Estelle? Lucia?

To be fair - and I hate pointing this out - by producing an episode full of plot holes and timeline inconsistencies, she IS following in the most-hallowed of Torchwood footsteps. Yes?

No, I haven't seen it yet; I am waiting until all episodes have aired, ganging the best of the fan reactions, and THEN making my decision to watch it or not. Really, it's the only logical way to do it, since retcon isn't an option in the real world if I see something I really can't live with. Again.

I'm waiting to find out if Jack will die (for got) at the end. I think then I will be able to watch at least parts of it. If I have to fear that they'll find more ways to torture his character in the future though...

From what I heard, from people who watch AND have their own option about it, this was the best episode so far, yet there are huge plot holes (Jack telling Angelo he's a fixed point in time and space) and things your not sure you should laugh or cry about (the firebird speech stolen from the Thorn Birds).

I think the biggest problem Miracle Day has is that it wants to be serious, 100% serious. If it would have still the little "wink" old Torchwood had, maybe then I could be more forgiving. Like that, I almost feel insulted, do Torchwoods TPTB really think I'm that stupid that I won't notice a plot hole like the one above???

I have been watching, and I admit that I did like this episode for what it showed of Jacks past, despite the phenomenally large plot holes, and also because it's the closest any TW writer has ever come to writing Gwen as she truly is - a scheming, hypocritical and self-centered bitch.
My favourite Jack moment was when Angelo rescued Jack from the mob that had been torturing him, and Jack just sat on the floor looking so lost and vulnerable that it was beyond heart-breaking.

I guarantee that there will be more fabrics coming out of that episode than the one I've written so far and yes - there will be Gwen-bash to be had.

I have given up on reacting to anything in this train wreck anymore- what is the point?
The whole mess will sink without a trace, quite probably, outside of after midnight repeats, never to be seen ever again, so why bother to even rip it to shreds when it is so easy to do?
I've read the twitter thing where JE tries to backpeddle on the things she has done and said in this episode and , quite frankly, it is pathetic.
That someone can actually be paid and paid well to write so inconsistently is beyond me, it really is.
If FF writers can very intelligently, work out timelines, not only for Jack, but for DW and then make DW and TW fit together in a believable way.......why in three HELLS cannot someone who is actually PAID to do it get it flaming well right?

That's "hear, hear", as in "I hear what you're saying and agree with it". (Or maybe, "dahlin', I hear you pain and I share it!") =P

I don't think I've ever seen anything penned by her before MD, but from what Espenson wrote on AE and her twitter, she seriously comes across as very thoughtless, sloppy, and even negligent towards her work. (Or maybe it's RTD's influence, who's presumably to blame for the sensationalism and lack of sense in the overall MD storyline.)

Yea thanks for pointing that out. I'm sure the person I was answering didn't think anything of it (what with the amount of mistakes you get on LJ when people write back to others) but it's nice to know others can make you feel small and put what you "should" have written into proper context, must be a gift.

I'll keep what I'm thinking to myself from now on then.

I'm sorry I offended you; I honestly didn't mean it like that.
