Fic: The Last One

Spoilers: MD – everybody is immortal, except Jack.
A/N: I got this idea in my head when I was reading the comments for my question. I wrote this late at night. Hopefully, it will make sense.


Jack was lying on the ground, his blood slowly seeping from his body.
“No! NO!”Gwen screamed.
She grabbed his shoulders and started shaking him.
“How can you do this to me!”
Rhys came to them and tried to pull her away gently.
“Come on, love. Give the bloke some peace.”
“You don't understand, Rhys. I need him. I can't live without him.”
Rhys just sighed and let her be. He knew better then anybody that there was no stopping Gwen, when she got into one of her tantrums.
Gwen reached for Jack again.
“Come on Jack, please. I am so sorry” she sobbed.
The gun from which the shot came was lying on the ground not far from them.
“Say that you forgive me,” she begged.
Jack coughed and blood trickled out of the corner of his mouth.
She was just trying to prove a point during an argument with Rhys. She didn't realise that the safety wasn't on.
Jack took a breath and turned his head to her. His blue eyes looked glassy and unfocussed, as if he were looking through her. He started saying something and Gwen leaned closer.
“Ianto...” he breathed out.
“Jack. Jack! Please!” she cried as she realised he stopped breathing.
She could still hear the echo of the shot and see the surprise on Jack's face. Then Jack crumpled to the ground bleeding and Gwen started screaming.

That would be so typical of Gwen! I wouldn't trust her with a nail file, never mind a loaded gun!

At least Jack will be at peace, with Ianto and where Gwen can't get at him!

That's Gwen for you.

I suppose this could be a sort of happy ending for Ianto and Jack.

And as usual, it's all about Gwen. God, I hate that woman. But I really want Jack to find Ianto, and as badly_knitted said, they can be together forever where Gwen can't get at them. This is the best thing to come out of Miracle Whip so far. And I don't have to actually watch it to reap the benefits. Thank you.

That's the next show, without RTD and his "creative" team. The Jack and Ianto show in the afterlife...kind of like Dead Like Me...but with sex.
