Well, well... the comments in the Boston Herald for this review are interesting! Seems RTD was wrong judging by them. People DO want a 'monster of the week show' and NOT another conspiracy theory rip-off show- presumably 10 hours of over-stretched '24' plagiarism...

TBH most of the times a Miracle Porn review pops up I enjoy the comments a lot more then the review itself. Plus it almost always follows the same pattern. Most people complain about all the changes, about the show moving to America, about most of the cast being killed off (that is Ianto AND Tosh and Owen). Then somebody pops up and screens "those crazy coffee sending Ianto people should get over it".... uhm sorry hun, but you're the first one who brought that up here.
Funny though, I think this is the huge mistake TPTB made, they kept telling themselves that the problem are just the "few unhappy about Ianto", and that everybody else will followed amazing-Gwen to the new world. Well turns out they (we as I'm one of them) aren't the only one unhappy about the direction Torchwood took. TBH, SIJ-me wouldn't even watch if he's in it by now. People not only want "Monster of the week", people also want the old show with Weevils in boiler suits.

In September I will have my 8Th and I think RTD making Gwen a Mother, when he knows absolutely nothing about the matter, is an huge mistake. No female I know would hold a baby in one hand and a gun in the other. If they were ever in a situation where they had to shoot at anything they would make damn sure the baby was someplace safe, even if it was under a seat or something.

Not only a mother, I showed a picture of her, the baby and the gun to a friend of mine who is a cop. He fell off his seat laughing at the unrealism of it all. Then I showed him a picture of naoko mori and he was wondering WHY she wasn't the main character!

Ah but... at least it has pink ear muffs and won't go deaf (well that's how a certain group of, let's say, very radical fans argue. Nah, you don't have to be a mother to know that you keep a child (or anyone else) out of the picture if you're firing at someone, after all chances are they might fire back (oh big surprise), no you don't have to be a mother, but you probably have to be somebody who understands the concepts of responsibility and love.... and why doesn't it surprise me that this is something Gwen NEVER understood.

Oh yes, now I know what to do if I'm holding Octavia {not born yet} and need to shoot someone, make sure she's wearing pink ear muffs, or in our family, probably yellow or blue ear muffs.

You know it's almost sad that they can't go back and fix the famous ear muff scene now, I bet they would get little Anwen a matching nice little pink bullet vest...and totally miss the point AGAIN.
