In the Sunday paper in my state they have a magazine called Parade. In today's issue they have Torchwood Miracle Day in the Parade Picks for television. Why I don't know since they have never had anything about TW before. It has a picture of John Barrowman and Mekhi Phifer and the paragraph underneath reads:
"The cult sci-fi series gets a rousing reboot, with new cast members Bill Pullman, Lauren Ambrose, and Mekhi Phifer (above right, with John Barrowman) and a creepy premise: Suddenly nobody's dying, and that's not a good thing."
Finally, something with no Gwen, no picture of Gwen, no mention of Gwen's family/baby.
Mods, if this is not allowed, please delete.

So basically, while advertising the greatness of her Gwenness, they are embarrased about her as well?

I bet they didn't mention anything about the adult nature of the show. Apparently Starz believes that nothing goes with Miracle Whip better than Midwestern Whitebread TV watchers. This cannot end well, LOL.

I have been wondering the same thing...it seems the typicle reader of Parade would be horified to learn Torchwood has both a pedophile and a non straight lead

Its a very small bit along with other recomendations, like, I kid you not - Dolly Parton's new CD.

I didn't think that MW could get any worse, but this just proved me wrong. Well, at least they are making a 'good' job of destroying Torchwood, it's apparently the only thing they are good at.

This is a trainwreck waiting to happen, are they TRYING to get their shock and awe from an audience that wasn't the target anyway?

I know Noah Wyle is currently the big name on Falling Skies but even I, who never watched ER, know who Wyle is. Phifer... I confess I had never heard of him before MD.

Man, they don't make 'em like that anymore, do they? They were never-miss viewing in our house. ;)

(Gosh another gay actor.)
Mekhi Phifer played a very unlikeable character in ER, they attempted to inject some humanity and likability into him but the actor (to my way of thinking) failed to pull it off and he died an emotional death that left me thinking...meh.
Another actor in ER who was handed a much less likable character turned it around and became one of the leads- since RTD was not writing for ER- because audiences warmed to him.
This was not Mekhi Phifer- who left me cold I am afraid.
