I was just browsing the Forbidden Planet website (the internet one, not the actual shop one :P) and came across something quite amusing in my search for Torchwood items.

As you see in this link, they have 3 different design mugs (although the Gwack one is there twice?). See anything interesting about the price? The Gwack mugs are half the price of the ones with only Jack and the rest of the team. They know we don't want them! If you look also, this is the same for the key rings as well. The Gwack one is in fact less than half the price of the team one :P Getting the hint yet Beeb?

They'd have to pay me as well. Then I'd have much fun smashing it into a thousand parts with a hammer. Then I would send the pieces back to them. Telling them exactly why; "replacement for damaged mug? Oh, no, I don't want another one, you can keep it. Now if you had a Ianto mug I would pay 3 times that much for it... you know what? On second thought, forget it, I'll get one that's fan made. Most things the fans do in TW are millions of times better than anything TPTB does anyway. Have a nice day."

When I'm in London I think I'll ask for a J/I mug or a team mug without Gwennypoo.

I had an opportunity to ask the makers last year about making an Ianto doll and was told that they wanted to make one and that they personally felt it would be a better companion doll to Jack…but they were told by BBC licensing they HAD TO make a Gwen doll
BTW
<- Points to icon I made these from Ken dolls and then dressed them

It's even more interesting when you navigate through the following weeks and there's no trace of CoE.

Basically that means that CoE only sold 40,000 in their first week, after that they never managed to top that. It's not completely strange for a third season of a series, the fans bought it the first week and after that it slunk for a bit.
In the archives of that site, the week that Season 1 came out, the lowest DVD on the scales had records of almost 200,000...so, there is just no comparing thát. In the week that season 2 came out, the lowest figure was 25,000 and it did not make that, nor did it make that the next couple of weeks.
Interesting to note is that at every Dvd selling site I look, Season 1 and 2 are always at LEAST double the price of season 3. This probably has to do with the fact that there are double the amount of discs in there.

That's right! Season 1 is selling better than season 3. Season 2 is the lowest of the three...not quite sure why that is.

On a somewhat related note, I took advantage a few months back of an offer for a free mug from Vista Print. All I had to pay for was postage, and the uploading of whatever pictures I chose. I selected a lovely montage of Janto images for one side, and for the other I picked an image of That Kiss from early series 2. Needless to say, I was very very happy to get a genuine Janto mug for myself, and I can admire my pretty boys whenever I have a cup of tea (sorry, don't drink coffee) without any hint of the Teflon Tart in sight.
