Someone sent me a link about Torchwood Series 3 rumors and all I can say is...
someone has wayyy too much time on their hands.

AN: I've already seen these on a few different websites. Most of these rumors have already been disproved. It's amazing how quickly internet rumors spread when people don't check things. The Gwen ones are crack-tastic.

Link also has rumors about Dr Who: http://www.thedeadbolt.com/news/104168/drwhotorchwood_news.php

My comments in bold.

Sci-Fi Pulse reports today that the biggest genre show on TV - Torchwood - will undergo some major changes soon. They report that Torchwood, one of the best shows on TV and one of the biggest hits in its genre, will undergo the biggest facelift, losing Burn Gorman (Owen Harper), Naoko Mori (Toshiko), and John Barrowman (Captain Jack Harkness). Poor Gareth (Ianto) doesn't even get mentioned How Torchwood could continue without Captain Harkness is a mystery to us. He's one of the most engaging actors and characters on TV and the center of the show. Sci-Fi Pulse says that they think Barrowman may come back every now and then in a recurring capacity. Pulse says that, as of season three, Freema Agyeman will join the show as Martha Jones and take over running Torchwood with the returning Eve Myles as Gwen Cooper.
If Gwen rumor was true they could call it 'The Gwen Cooper Adventurers', because it would be Torchwood in name only, and it would go from a high rated show to one with about ten viewers. If I wanted to watch a show starring Gwen I'd watch Series 1.

They also note, in more news that baffles us, that the format of Torchwood is going to change. The show has worked successfully as a sci-fi show for adults with sexual references and dark humor. Sci-Fi Pulse reports that will change and that Torchwood will be driven more to kids. Ugh. My thoughts exactly. Especially if it's a kids show with Gwen as the main character, she could give children nightmares. They also report that the recently commissioned third season has only been set for five episodes instead of the usual thirteen. What?! Torchwood is performing better in the States than Doctor Who. Why are they screwing with it? The story does note that these are all rumors. Scary, stupid rumors.
This has to be someones idea of a joke. They're so crazy they can't be true. It's one thing to make a few changes to a show but to completely change the cast AND the format???

Posted this a few days ago.....the article was originally written by Michael Hinman at SyFyportal and has been picked up by a bunch of other news agencies without them checking their facts.

Most of the article can be disproved already.

Hinman seems to be notorious (from talking to other people) for pulling these whacked out stories from out of his ass half the time. Both Burn and John have already confirmed in other interviews that they are backing filming season 3 sometime this year.

It's mostly absolute c**p.

Most of the info from it is unreliable and some of it has been disproved else where.

Burn's signed for series 3 already and well, I wouldn't believe it

The link is on my journal to the interview where he said he's doing season 3.

Maybe, if we're really lucky, what they're talking about is yet another spin off, with the 'popular' *cough, choke, HURL* Gwen Cooper, and Martha Jones working in the recently rediscovered Torchwood four, (fingers crossed) in an SJA kind of slot. This would mean that we get Torchwood without her, and watching that twat (pardon my language) would have to be a conscious choice, which many of us would cheerfully decline.

Yeah, and it's only commisioned for 5 eps because at the end of that, the dome gets smashed, and everyone dies except Martha, who the Doctor just manages to rescue in the nick of time with some nifty TARDIS piloting. 'unfortunately' the TARDIS decides she doesn't want Gwen anywhere near her, so she is left to die in the airless, freezing vacuum of space. A permanantly frozen testament to what happens when you piss of the FANS, lol. Oh God, I feel fanfiction creeping up on me. If it catches me, can I use that title?

Rumors

Readers may be interested to know that when I read these rumors some days ago I sent an E-Mail directly to Michael Hinman and received a reply. Among other remarks in the said reply was the statement : I don't know what you are talking about!

In his post he said he got the info from a certain Dr. Phibes, who I reckon is Michael Hinman himself since he alone runs and writes for the afore mentioned web Site.

is Hinman a 'pro-Gwen' fanatic? or does he simply like to stir up the sh!t?
