Starz has released a list of the episode titles for the upcoming Gwen-fest.

I know it's too much to really hope for, but I'd like to imagine that "Episode 8: The End of the Road" will see beloved Gwennie-poo, Super Trooper of Torchwood, done away with once and for all.

Maybe at some point throughout the previous episodes she suffers what would ordinarily be a fatal wound, but because of whatever's going on, she doesn't die. Naturally, she would think this is because the universe has finally come to its senses and seen fit to grant her immortality so that she can be with her soul mate Jack for all eternity.

Jack realises that when everything is fixed, poor darling Gwen will be condemned to die along with every other person in the world who should be dead but isn't. He's devastated, but then what would life be without a sacrifice or two? He killed his own grandson, after all - things could be worse, right?

So at the end of it all, he decides to retcon Rex whats-his-name and the chick side-kick; he and Rhys hold a small but heartfelt funeral for their one-true love before deciding to rebuild Torchwood together...

A bit much, do you think...? Hmm?
(You might notice I'm in a slightly sarcastic mood)

i think i speak for all of us when i say that MW shall be total BS and the very thought of Jack and Gwen together is enough to make me puke up my cereal

Nothing will happen to Gwen. This episode was written by RTD and therefore Gwen, Rhys and baby will come out unscathed because Gwen can't suffer as she is the viewers favorite character. {Joke}.

I predict that Jack will cease to be immortal when everyone else becomes immortal and he'll die at the end of the season, and everyone involved will say watch the next season to see if he is reincarnated.

I like your train of thought but sadly we know that won't happen.

What makes you think that the season wont end with the cliffhanger of Jack seeming to be dead. He wont actually be dead, of course, but that is how it may end.

From: [identity profile] jennelldhalrbj.livejournal.com

I didn't say that Gwen would end up dead, what I said was:

therefore Gwen, Rhys and baby will come out unscathed and

I predict that Jack will cease to be immortal when everyone else becomes immortal and he'll die at the end of the season.

Maybe I mixed up my comments becuase i was commenting on blucougars post not yours.

Oh, OK I got a yahoo message that you had replied to my comment and I couldn't understand what you meant.
I thought at first it was me being daft as I get a bit vacant at times when I'm pregnant.

but then what would life be without a sacrifice or two?

=)) That's how RTD thinks, probably, too.

Yeah, no way they kill her off, Gwen's more immortal than Jack, and besides, heavens forbid they do something the fans would actually like. =P

for me in order to save the world gwen in act of 'noble' act of 'unselfless' courge gives her to save jack which the universe realizing a chance to make things right brings ianto/tosh/owen/suzie back to life. ianto then explains that gwen was not real but the projection of an evil mind control alien inserting her into their minds. jack with the memories of the horror of 'gwenwood' uses this as reality check and builds a better torchwood. he hires a larger team inculding swanson, andy and donna plus more support staff. ianto and he marry have hot monkey sex and litle iantos and iantoess, tosh gives up her crush on owen and finds her true geek love, donna whips owen into shape.
at night before the babies of torchwood go to sleep uncle andy tells them the scary story of the witch named gwen who had come to suck the joy out of the world. andy is married to emma who works with ianto and learns to make killer coffee. then jack gives his blessing for a new front for torchwood in which ianto and emma will open "coffee king" stores. the public rejects starbecks and jack/ianto/torchwood team/coffee go on to save the world while serving the best coffee ever.
hey, it could happen.

This is the best idea EVER! Now we just need to brainwash RTD into giving Torchwood to you so we can make it happen!

Tease for a moment a fraction of a moment--- All my dreams had come true; Gwen gone for ever.

Nope just a fragment of a nightmare she still here :( --- Although that said with RTD gone maybe in some future series, she really weill be dead and gone.

From: [identity profile] theromangeneral.livejournal.com

Honestly, I don't know why they didn't just call it 'Torchwood - Death Takes a Holiday, yes we're gonna rip-off Xena and Hercules plots this season'.

From: [identity profile] dr-doomsduck.livejournal.com

nah, if only...

My guess is that it's going to be Jack who bites the dust and BOOM no more connection to the whoverse, RTD finally got what he wanted: Excalibur. Of course, right about now, I will be happily waving Jack off to fanfics, seeing as how his character was abused plenty since season 2.

Whatever happens, I'll read up on it on Wikipedia. Not worth watching, just like most of RTD's crap (no, I did not watch 9 and 10, just a few eps here and there, why do you ask? :p)

I said that earlier in this thread, it's nice to know someone thinks the same.

And I will be doing that too!!! Def not wasting my $$ on Starz just for Gwenwood. I need that $$ for better things in life... coffee, ice cream, books...

rumor has reported that gdl will be in la soon maybe for torchwood. wild idea- jack dies instead of the dark he finds a very sexy welshman who first slugs him and then snogs his face off. the few fans who were not pissed of by rusty death equals true drama will finally wake up and dump gwenwood in droves.

to all who enjoyed my torchwood rewrite i say "thank you" to all now if rusty would give me the show.lol

From: [identity profile] dr-doomsduck.livejournal.com

you know what, he does that and I might just forgive him for murdering Torchwood, would probably even watch the scene myself. Ofcourse afterwards I'd go and return to fanfics again.

Alas, I don't believe we are that lucky. My best guess is that he's going to be in one of the radio play thingies to milk out some more money for the franchise. Or just some short flashback Gwen has of him....

Ianto who?? Not likely I don't think. I doubt she still remembers any of her co-wokers names. After all, they are dead and gone and Super Gwen has many exciting adventures ahead of her in her longlonglong life. Saving the world and all that.

From: [identity profile] iamme-ur2.livejournal.com

Wanna know something? I'm actually worried/scared shitless that RTD IS going to make her immortal and that she and Jack go be immortal togther... forgetting Rhys AND Ianto!!

From: [identity profile] dr-doomsduck.livejournal.com

XD Oh, yeah, because thát would work out, I can just see them fighting of their petty squabbles with genocides. That's how those two drama queens work, a lot of tantrums and raised voices.

I don't think they'll do that...or maybe my mind is just not ready to process such a thought. RTD has made it abundantly clear that immortality = suffering and heaven forbid that Gwen suffers. Besides a series about two immortals screwing each others brains off would really cut on the DRAMA!!! and REALISM!!! of the show.

From: [identity profile] wiseheart.livejournal.com

See, thats where your WRONG!!1111!

Cuz saint gwennie becuming imortal to staw with her TWU WUB (=jack) IS realism!!!!! Poor dear, shes sufered from her horrible, horrible husband for years, while pinning away for her TWU WUB, stupid jack, he repsected her horrible, horrible marriage, isntead of saving her from rys who's a big meanie, but now that rys will be kiled of, they can be together forever and there love will never end!

(Sorry, this is as much fanpoodle yipping as I can produce. The mere effort gave me a headache.)

I really hope they'll kill of the sorry caricature that Jack has become, so that real!Jack and Ianto can live on in fanfic, forever.

From: [identity profile] dr-doomsduck.livejournal.com

XD Sweet baby jesus, that fanpoodle! kill it, KILL it with fire!!!

yep, caricature, that's a good word for it, since, and I am just going to repeat it because apparently I am not allowed to comment more than three times before it becomes spam....

Jack, my dear friends, is no longer omnisexual, nor is he bisexual. As JB put it: "people might look at this series and see that jack is not bisexual, he's really gay in this series."

Goodbye high defining character trait, Hello caricature. Gone is the character who could just love everybody, now he is 'that guy who sleeps with guys' he doesn't even has immortality anymore. I don't mind gay-characters, but this is a pretty big thing. you know.

still, no Gwack

From: [identity profile] wounded-melody.livejournal.com

If their main demographic are young male viewers, the "really gay" part isn't going to fly. It's sad, but it's true, at least from what I've seen/read. For example, on one message board for OZ, a lot of guys would complain about the male nudity and m/m kissing/sex, but not the violence/killing XD

From: [identity profile] dr-doomsduck.livejournal.com

XD funny thing isn't it. As stephen fry said, we are a strange race: we are allowed to say violent words like torture and murder "traffic was torture" and "I could murder a drink" which are morally the worst things you could do but when we're talking about "fuck" and words like that we're talking about our ability to reproduce, like the REASON why we still exist in the first place, you know act of love and stuff, but we're not allowed to say them.

From: [identity profile] iamme-ur2.livejournal.com

lol... I need brain bleach because NOW I'm picturing Gwack sex and it ain't a pretty picture!!!!! You need it too to help clear your mind of the terrible thought I just put in it!!!! (hands bucket over)

I REALLY hope that Jack wises up and relizes that Gwennie poo is SO not the Heart & Soul he once thought... And that Rhys gets what's coming to him: a relationship with someone who respects and loves him and only him!

((I feel better now...))

From: [identity profile] dr-doomsduck.livejournal.com

No worries, there was a new interview with John barrowman (cut up in four little pieces) on ´space´ and he has said that "people might look at this series and see that jack is not bisexual, he's really gay in this series...." upside, NO GWACK, downside, a little more of Jack's character is destroyed. I have no problems with gay characters, don't get me wrong but Jack's I-love-everyone attitude was one of his defining characteristics. Now he's just sorta flanderized into 'the guy who sleeps with guys' and 'immortal'

But hey, if we don't like it, we can just turn it off and switch to another channel! Thank you JB for explaining the miracles of my remote control.

By all means keep Rhys, off Gwen...the sanity of the universe demands it, she's just too perfect to tolerate.

From: [identity profile] wounded-melody.livejournal.com

What's interesting is that there is going to be an early screening (or preview?) of TWMD and JB & EM are going to be at it, but not KO or the actor who plays PC Andy...
