Is it my imagination or does this sound like total crap?

Not your imagination - just the synopses left me so bored I nearly fell asleep reading them. No interest in reading these whatsoever. Can't honestly see them selling many copies.

well lets hope this time she DOESNT fail in killing Gwen

But wait - I thought you can't bring characters back again, except Rhys, Suzie,.....nevermind. And no Jack? Gwen and Rhys save the world all by themselves? Then why bring him back for Miracle Whip? Oh yeah, the RATINGS I guess.

Yeah, I read that and thought 'Can't they come up with anything new?' Then I dozed off!

Hey, he totally ripped that off from Village of the Damned! (Two people on the run end up in a place with a dark secret, and that was all about kids too), so not only does it sound like a crap book, it sounds like a crap book that was ripped off from something else.

"You Yahoos HUNT PEOPLE!?!" XD

I hadn't even thought of that and then I wondered, but wasn't Torchwood created earlier, turns out, nope. Good lord...I'm with Saxgoddess, are there ANY original ideas in the episodes?

It's a good thing the characters, Myfanwy, the hub and the SUV are so lovel...Oh wait! Those got killed or destroyed. -.-

I think this episode of SPN was in 2005/6, whereas the TW episode was at the end of 2006.

Especially this:

Feisty Police Woman: "Tell me why you did it!"
Evil killer man: "Because it's fun!"

OH for crying out loud!? is that really in there!!

No wonder RTD advised us to watch Supernatural, he practically copied it...

From: [identity profile] mercury-pheonix.livejournal.com

Yeah, I watched it the other day. It's set in the middle of nowehere, and everything, and they have a room where they're cutting the meat and wrapping it, with bones hanging down from the ceiling as ornaments.

The writers ripping off a plot? And this is shocking how? I don't think they've had an original plot yet.

ehehehe, there are currently five tags associated with the book
------------------------------------------------------------
gwenwood(12)
not torchwood(10)
rubbish(8)
no jack no torchwood(3)
no ianto no torchwood(1)

Agree with these tags?
------------------------------------------------------------

Yes Amazon, I most certainly do.

the fans have spoken but is bbc willing to listen?

From: [identity profile] sarahjane6.livejournal.com

What rubbish, they're even downgraded to paperback. Why even bother, no Ianto, no Torchwood.

From: [identity profile] mscatmoon.livejournal.com

I think that might be because they are U.S. books and we don't really do those small hard cover books. RTD wants an American audience now. I'm sure it'll get worse and worse as time goes on. Loyalty? What's that??

I suppose they should let Gwen and Rhys be defenders of Earth from the beginning, seeing that they are so pro about it. And Torchwood could happily continue to protect Cardiff from Rift’ coughing. Win-win situation.

There are too much factors in that annotation, not at all linked together:

- Gwen and Rhys are on the run – why?

- locals taking an unhealthy interest in their daughter – again, why and is that really Torchwood matter? Are those locals aliens?

- something with echoes of a life they thought they'd left behind – how is that connected with previous statements? What “life left behind” – Torchwood, CoE or something else, how it can be connected?

- they uncover the village's terrible past – again, it can be independent case, like Countrycide. And anyway, how this “terrible past” is Torchwood matter, and what more important – how it may be connected with worldwide immortality (if they say that this is prequel)?

- Gwen discovers that Torchwood will never leave them behind – how does she discover it? Is that because of village’ “terrible past”? But how it concerns Torchwood? Or is it something else? It’s not like someone purposely seeks Gwen to offer her the mystery to solve.

- now she and Rhys stand alone in defence of the Earth – WTF??? Again – is that because of “village’ terrible past”? Or because “they are on the run”? This is the biggest issue of all – how one local mystery makes Gwen “the defender of the human race”?

- the children of Rawbone can only bring her closer to the secret forces that want her out of the way – who wants her out of the way and why? How that’s connected with previous several statements? Are those mysterious forces connected to Torchwood, or to “village’ terrible past”? And how children fit in this chaos?

See – too many factors, the connections between them are vague at best and almost nonexistent.

And the funny thing – now I understand why it’s OK if new audience doesn’t know anything of previous seasons – that’s because 4th season has its own prequels.

Yeah, for the life of me I can't imagine why Rhys and Gwen have to be on the run? At the end of CoE, they seemed to have received a full reprieve from government persecution, and they didn't look like they were on the run when they went to meet Jack on the hill-top in the last scene. So what are they running from?!

From: [identity profile] saxgoddess25.livejournal.com

She's on the run from the rednecks with guns that we have here. :) She better run fast though, she is no match whatsoever for a redneck!

From: [identity profile] pitac89.livejournal.com

Redneck and proud, y'all. Now if I could just remember where I put my gun.
