As you are probably aware, RTD has stated that he is leaving Torchwood after Miracle Whip. He couldn't leave, however, without giving kudos to our favourite Gwen:
'The chance to take those characters, take Eve Myles's character Gwen Cooper and obviously Captain Jack, played by John Barrowman. It's their fourth year of stories now, it's kind of like they have become modern legends, I love that.' - Russell T. Davies
Gwen is a modern legend folks! RTD says so!

Oh Rust(oid), you say the most precious things! Will you please yank Gwen Cooper from out of my throat, because if you shove her any deeper, she'll be coming out of my ass.

I’m curious though – why he is leaving. I think there are two possible reasons:
- first – somebody in USA TV bought “he is worldwide famous writer with numerous successful projects that never fail to get high ratings” drivel and offered RTD chance to create new project. In this case I wonder what project that could be if all we hear again and again is that RTD adapts his previous ideas to Torchwood and sells them that way.
And isn’t it a bit early to talk about leaving? He doesn’t even know how new season will be accepted.
- and second – American crew don’t tolerate RTD working manners and made sure he knows that. Maybe somebody finally let him know that he should behave or else. In that case I shouldn't be worried by his confidence. He's only putting on a false front.
I worry about Earth’ fate now, because RTD likes to end things via maximum destruction. I have this horrible image what we’ll see in the end of 4th season: Jack’ lifeless body drifting in space, cold and alone; dead Earth on the background, and Gwen Cooper, the only one human being still alive (and not even scratch on her), ranting; “How should I know that I wasn’t supposed to push big red button?! I didn’t know that it would end like that! Anyway, it’s their fault for not dying properly in the first place. No worries though, I’m a legend now! Isn't it brilliant?”

But to be honest, I tend to ignore him now. I DGAF about Gwen but RTD's leaving?

well I can say I'm married to GDL that doesn't make it true!!!
hopefully Moffat will take over, at least HIS stories are scary yet believable. If any of you seen his 2007 drama Jekyll, starring jimmy Nesbitt, he can write dark adult storylines which are creepy as hell!!

*does a little happy dance*
Will they finally cancel Torchwood after tha miracle whip? Oh, now I KNOW Jack won't make it, because RTD can't leave series without making a big mess...after all, he basically set fire on the entire TARDIS before going.
Either way, about the legends comment, does that mean that every series that had four seasons is a legend? Cause that would mean that the entire Ugly Betty cast are now living legends, or hey, what about those from Law and Order, surely they are just like king arthur and let's not forget Rocko's modern life, surely that will be remembered for it's legendary qualities

I hope he *does* go - I just don't expect his definition of "go and work on something different" to be the dictionary definition of "go and work on something different".

Basically, RTD is covering his big fat slimy arse.
If the series (When?) bombs he can say "Oh well, I was going anyway"
If by some miracle the series is a success[- you obviously have not read Chris/Torchwood on Twitter? The series is apparently set to be bigger than Spartacus and the actors are signed up for fifteen years- (Oh come on NO-ONE signs up actors for 15 years!)] then RTD can give in to his thousands of cheering fans and supporters and stay on........yeah, that's going to happen- and there go all my pigs now, flying north for the summer!
Just as a footnote, who let's JB dress himself??????

Speaking of which, I've just re-watched Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and cracked up completely when the Blowfish said something along the lines of "The Carer with her oh-so-beating heart..."

I do feel so sorry for the poor chap - he's written barely any of the episodic biopics of my awesomeness and already he's exhausted! I do try and reign in just how amazing I am, but clearly not enough!
Hopefully the next writer will be young, sprightly and American.
You do know how much America just loves me, right?

So all it takes is four years for the characters on a television show to become a legend? Yeah. Right. (Obviously, it depends on who's talking, doesn't it?)
And, Rusty? It's Jack's fifth year.

If he leaves perhaps there is hope, slim but perhaps a sliver of hope.

first things first how to beliveably bring back Suzie, Owen, Tosh and Ianto and ensure Gwen was never part of Torchwood. and have John hart on the team too. he and Suzie would make one hell of a badass couple. you wouldn't mess with the two of them :D

any truth to the rumors under rtd's contract that he owns the right to ianto's character and the new writers would not be allowed to bring him back? if true it is very childish and want does that do to rusty's claim that torchwood is all about the gwen?

Stay away from that guy, even if it will prove to be a chore given that he's got several different identities on the web and manages at least 10 different TW sites on Facebook and another 10 on Twitter, and another 10 on various amateurish blogs, etc.
Anything he claims? The opposite is the truth.
