So, I was hoping to see more of Ianto and Tosh's "giggly, gossipy friendship" this season, and instead he seems to be buddy-buddy with the cow. Say WHAT? Does *everyone* on the show have to adore her? *shudders* I'm so tempted to run Gwen through a Mary Sue litmus test, especially at times like this.

Part of me thinks he's just following the adage "keep your friends close and your enemies closer." The other part wonders if, since Tosh and Owen are both geniuses and Ianto himself seems pretty brilliant...well, maybe Ianto just wanted a buddy who was dumb for a change.

Personally, I think he'd have better conversations with Myfanway.

'Oh I'm certain Gwen has her place...

...it just hasn't been dug yet!'
hahahaha...priceless.

'Maybe Ianto is friendly with Gwen out of pity. Because as we all know, Jack may have a soft spot for Gwen but he has a HARD one for Ianto. And Ianto knows that now!' Oh please that that be true and not the beginnings of some sick, twisted Ianto/Gwen pairing. (they could be called Gwanto)

'Gwen just doesn't fit any where does she?' She didn't fit during series 1 and I don't care what the writers say, she doesn't fit now.

'Does *everyone* on the show have to adore her? *shudders*' Of course, at least that's what the writers keep telling us, but we know better.

'Personally, I think he'd have better conversations with Myfanway.' I think he'd have batter conversations with TARDIS corral on Jack's desk.

Gwen/Ianto etc

I was really hoping that when Eve said Gwen would be faithful to Rhys this season that she would be less unbearable. I was wrong. In Meat she was sickening. As usual, the writers had her desperately concerned about Rhys, disobeying orders too and still flirting with Jack.
Also, writing Jack being so concerned about Gwen and keeping her in the Team when she is useless and doesn't even obey his orders is making him look stupid. We have never been shown any reason for her even being in the Team to begin with.
This all comes down the the "Gwen is wonderful, beautiful, talented, sympathetic and the most wonderful human who ever lived" syndrome. All of which is crap and unbelievable.
If only the writers would try to find out how the viewers feel about Gwen. It is interesting to read American Torchwood sites and discover that they too generally dislike her. One thread I read was headed "Sick of Gwen?"
So fans of hers trying to convince us that there are, in reality, hordes of folk out there who love her, is almost certainly untrue. We just bear her because we can't do anything else?

Anybody else think that Ianto was being completely serious when he told Rhys "Next time let her take the bullet" ?
