Okay having now watched 2 episodes of the new series I was wondering if people feel she's learnt her lesson from last season. For those of you who haven't seen it I'll put the rest under the cut.
I personally feel she hasn't she still seems to feel that one person is worth more than the entire world. Even Beth realised the danger she was and showed more heart in forcing the team to kill her than Gwen (the beating heart of torchwood according to Russell) Yet last week she was prepared to sacrifice herself for Cardiff, after her parting shot of "Tell Jack I..." grr, what about your fiance. Also is it just me or does she have 'HOSTAGE' stamped across her forehead
Just a parting shot I know some people were a little shocked at Ianto's behaviour in the 'electric chair' but I liked it. He didn't do it in front of Beth and was ever the professional in front of her (offering her the water) And I've got to say it SCORE to Ianto on Jack's manners in bed ;)

Have seen the 2 episodes now and still don't like Gwen. In One she got herself captured and made eyes at Jack and talked of Rhys as if he were a last resort, and in two, she didn't seem to be able to understand that Beth could destroy the World and was willing to die to avoid this. She is what Dan calls a dumb-fuck.
The writers obviously don't realize how badly and inconsistently written Gwen is. This is down to the influence of RTD I think so I wont get started on that again!
However, now there is a younger version we let our 9 year old watch it. Dan asked her what she thought of the characters and here it is {not in the exact words}:
Owen: Skinny. Needs a new hair style.
Tosh: Nice. Boring.
Ianto: Funny. Doesn't like his clothes but thinks he is quite nice looking.
Jack: {She is a JB fan}. Lovely. Love his clothes and his smile and his coat.
Gwen: There is something odd about her eyes. {I didn't mention her bulging eyes by the way}. She seems a bit dim. Don't like her much.

'This is down to the influence of RTD I think so I won't get started on that again!' Don't get me started on RTD either.

Someone on another message broad called Gwen "cute puppy" compassionate. If a person strikes her as a "cute puppy" and is right in front of her, she cares. Otherwise, not so much; I think that really describes Gwen's compassion.
I liked the 'electric chair' scene. I didn't think it was inappropriate; it's not like he did it in front of Beth. Maybe people didn't except that kind of thing from Ianto, or any humor at all from what I've read on other message broads (have they forgotten 'The old fashion way. With my eyes').
'SCORE to Ianto on Jack's manners in bed ;)' I really liked when Jack shushed him, because Jack is the *King* of inappropriate comments.

'Then how adorable is Jack when he runs away from Ianto, who looks like he's about to lay into Jack for using duct tape on the SUV?!' It was very adorable :D It could also be that they wanted some time alone; not only is his shirt still unbuttoned, but his undershirt has mysteriously come untucked.
