Based on this interview, why does it look like they've been lying to us about Gwen's "monogamy" in season 2?



All of Jack's cohorts are just as hormonal as he is.

"Yes, it is a science-fiction soap opera," says Myles, who is Welsh.

Last season Gwen hopped into Owen's bed despite her devotion to her clueless live-in lover, Rhys (Kai Owen).

"It was completely out of character for Gwen," Myles says. "But that's what good drama is all about. You don't want to spoon-feed a sci-fi audience. You want to challenge them. So none of these characters are safe."

In the future, Gwen "does the best she can" with monogamy, Myles says. "But it's a case of anything is possible with the Torchwood bunch."

Eve is getting kind of annoying too. I wish they'd give her another line to peddle on these interviews. Anyway, there is still hope. In the article Mr. B says that in addition to two males having a relationship, you will see two females show affection. Maybe Gwen will run off with Martha! Seriously though, I am really looking forward to Martha coming to Torchwood. In the trailers, Gwen is so jealous when Martha shows up!

'It was completely out of character for Gwen[to sleep with Owen]' and let me guess, telling Jack she was only marrying Rhys because 'he was the only one who would have her' was out-of-character for her too... right.*rolls eyes* Oh and let's not forget that 'Tell Jack I l...' scene, she just said that because she was still woozy from John's poison lip gloss. *notice the sarcasm*

'The motivation for the character is so muddled, nothing is out of character, no matter how illogical.' I'm glad someone finally mentioned it. I've giving up trying to figure out why she does the tings she does, and I'm much happier.

'I really resent the writers for screwing up this character. They could have redeemed Gwen this season with just one line: Tell RHYS I....[love him]. But they screwed that up too.' I know, most of the reason I hate Gwen is that it really seems like she is just keeping Rhys around until Jack becomes available.
