Well I've been not so active in this fandom for a little while (believe it was better for my stress levels that way!) but my friend and I were having our weekly fandom gossip and she tells me 'Did you hear that Eve Myles and JB aren't really best friends anymore?'

It might be our shared Gwen-hate getting in the way but could you wonderful people tell me if there's any truth in this? I don't really read interviews with EM (mainly because I get a headache if I roll my eyes too much...) so I'm a little out of the loop!

Has she fallen out with JB? Or Burn, Naoko or Gareth for that matter? Just so I know whats going on :-)

Well, it depends on how you look at it.

From her recent appearances at La Cage, she talked to Gavin but ignored his sister and Scott and her talk with Gavin wasn't a friendly one either and she didn't go back stage either. And it wouldn't matter if you are pregnant, you would go and see him backstage but she didn't.

John barely mentioned her in his book or his interviews, she is mainly an after thought or a part of the story but it wasn't like his first book where she was mentioned a lot, this one she isn't really mentioned at all. And from the sounds of what he wrote about season 3, it wasn;t a happy set either. She also mentioned in an interview with TW Mag, that she felt left out of things because John and Gareth had their own jokes, comments and were generally more tight knit and she felt like an outsider and sometimes they would laugh at things in a scene or what she had done but never explained them to her and she didn't like it. Also, in a lot of the interviews, John and Gareth were very tight knit but they seemed to be seperate from her.

Now, some of the eve fans talk about the pics of them at the signing but there is a very famous one of john's website, where john and gareth have their arms wrapped around each other and eve is left off to the side and it doesn't look very friendly at all. If you also look at the other pics, John and Gareth look very strained standing next to her.

Is she still friends with the others, they haven't really mentioned her since they have left nor does she mention them. It has felt like recently that there is John, Gareth, Naoko and Burn, and then there is Eve and Kai. She doesn't seem to interact with them now they aren;t on the show, which is sad.

Right now, she only seems to mention John if it will get her anything in an interview but most of them are old stories and nothing new.

In my personal opinion, i don't think they are friends anymore or not as close. I think her behaviour to both him and Gareth and her attitude in general has pissed John off and he seems to have shut her out but i don't think she has exactly been forthcoming, some people are speculating that the only reason she went to see La Cage was not because of john but to find out what John was doing about TW, Kai did the same thing a couple of weeks ago too. I think, as it got wittled down, you can see the cracks between the cast more clearly.

No kidding. She dissed Carol and Scott alltogether. From what I've read of John's book and from Carol's and John's interview when his first book came out family is all important to him.

And she goes and totally ignores his and talks to Gavin. Very bad form Eve, very bad form.

Of course she should feel left out while they were filming. John and Gareth knew what was coming and kept to themselves. They had too in order to stay sane.

You know how I feel about Burn and Naoko. They both were pushed out of the way in order for her to get what she wanted in series 4-- Gewnwood.

Of course she had to find out what John was going to/what his plans where for series 4.
I think RTD/BBC also want to know, I think that's the reason she went, to find out, not only for herself, but for them as well.

I also can't belive Kai did that too. But who knows. She's so worried that she has no career now, maybe she should have thought about that before she opened her mouth in interviews and such.

It like I said before, if her career tanks, it's all her fault for sticking with "The Gwen"

So what if Barrowman and GDL pushed her out? I don't get why she seem to expect that people should consider her their closest friend, when she doesn't extend the same, considering the comic relief comment...

Ah, reminds me of another horrible Gwen point, she wants Jack to tell her everything about him even though she's a newbie, she wants Torchwood to give her everything, but at the same time, she doesn't want them at her wedding. She wants Rhys to trust her, but not the other way around. It's okay to demand much of your partner as long as you give back (and they are fine with the arrangement). It's okay to be a selfish bitch as long as you don't hide it and don't expect people to be likewise to you, but she doesn't get it.

Yeah, she didn't talk to Scott, Carol, Stuart ( Gavin's husband ) or any of the team who work for john, she just talked to Gavin, according to the person it wasn't a happy friendly chat because they didn't laugh at all, she talked to gavin and then disappeared. I mean, i can understand to a certain extent not talking to some of the people who work for john because you might not know them but if your friends with someone, you never diss the sister and especially not his partner, no friend would do that, so they can't be close or even talking.

I have to say, in the interview, she sounded paranoid about it, like she was being laughed at by them and all the jokes/comments where about her and her acting. She didn't like not being the centre of attention with those two and the fact that they were very tight knit and she couldn't get in. I also think she didn;t like the fact that John had turned the spotlight on Gareth and he was acting the same way with Gareth as he did with her, i think she was jealous of the fact that a, gareth was getting more of john;s time than her and b, those two were more popular press wise and she wasn;t included in it.

Kai did it about 2 weeks ago, he went, talked to Gavin but got cut out by him and then disappeared.

The BBC already knows what john thinks about season 4, he was the first one asked because when he went in to discuss some of his up coming projects with them, he got asked about it but wouldn't say what he said but no, he has already been asked. John got asked in August, the other didnt until mid september. I think they are nervous, Kai said in an interview, tyring to get the fans on his side but it ended up backfiring on him, that none of the cast or writers or co knew what john was doing because they hadn;t heard from him and all they knew about what he was doing came through the press but they had no idea about what he thought.

I do not think that her saying John and Gareth were just in Torchwood for Comic relief could have impressed John much, as he takes his work very seriously despite all his joking around. I know nothing about Kai as the sight of his naked rear in Season one, wobbling through a doorway, turned me off him permanently---

I have nothing wrong against Kai/Rhys. I find the character great and funny to follow. However, my rage and why I don't want to follow Torchwood anymore is they destroy Ianto completely, Jack is not the Jack anymore, they lie with the picture promo COE (Ianto/Jack who give hug etc), Gwen who have absolutely nothing in the end. I am sick of her honestly.

But to stay on the topic, I really don't know. I think the comments of EM against the fan who are upset and the comment about Janto not help probably.

But I hear nothing of that as so far until I see this post.

And Kai and Gareth are really good friends, so I think if I was Kai, I be very careful but I so far I see, Kai seem to be a gentleman.

Today was the first day of Hurricane Who in Orlando and someone asked him about Eve. He said she was hysterical. He spoke positively about her but I don't think he could say what he really thought. The moderator and the other guy on stage kept jumping in with their own comments and "helped" answer his questions.

He looked adorably scruffy but when he wasn't in front of people he didn't look happy. He had his picture taken with the line of people there but as soon as the line was gone so was he.

They did that to John at comic con, except it was RTD and JG.

Its almost like they can't have their own thoughts and if they don't answer the way they want them to or take too long to answer, they have to jump in and answer for them.

You know, his behavior sounds a bit like John's at comic con. He had the same thing happen to him and people said he was fine when he was signing but any other time he wasn't happy and disappeared. They said most of the time when he wasn't infront of the fans, he just looked pissed off and what ever was going on there must have been bad because scott, according to john's book, hated comic con and spent most of the day walking around L.A but this year he was glued to john's side, so i don't know what the hell is going on at these cons because john was acting the same way.

I do have to say, a couple of weeks a go, one of the John boards got hijacked by a couple of Eve fans who went on for a while about her going to see him in La Cage and didn't like it when i told them that this was a John board and we weren't there to discuss her, i got some nasty posts after that.

It really does sound like she's very jealous of both the attention JB and GDL get and their relationship...I really just want to scream 'Spoilt Brat!'. Not everyone is RTD and worships the groud you walk on Eve. And not acknowledging the people that are important to John? Seriously not cool.

I think there's tension all around. Eve wants Gwenwood, John wants Captain Jack show (and is probably finally realizing that if there is a T4, he'll be marginalized), Gareth - I think he wants to make some $ and not have to deal with any more BS.

I had heard somewhere that John wasn't happy with the killing off of the Ianto character and let RTD know this. The fact that he didn't get what he wanted should have been his first clue that Eve was now RTD's favorite. But I think he likes playing the character too much (plus any actor cannot afford to piss off others) to say the magic words "Ianto goes, CJ goes."

And I think the BBC told him to get out there and sell CoE and the continuing series, hence the CJ will get a new squeeze and other tasteful remarks. I just have to wonder where you draw the line between protecting your own interests and media whore.
