i just came across a gwack story called "Gwen's death" the summary to which was "Gwen gets in some serious trouble but will Jack get to her in time or will she die? warnining-character death-do not read if you are a strong gwen fan"
Now I would of thought it was pretty damn obvious that Gwen dies in the fic but lo and behold here are the examples of some of the comments:
"You killed gwen, why? what was the point? You should really warn us"
"What? When you said character death I didn't think you meant HER"
and of course my personal favourite:
"You should write a sequal and in the sequal Gwen should die"
:D

Am I guilty of this as well........skimming over things to get to the story? I never put my name in the correct order on those forms where how to put your name is the first thing. LOL However, D seems not to have read the story itself, either. Ah, well.

Unofficial Sequel to Gwen's Death or Meat Factory

first a prequel

They were in an abandoned meat factory that Gwen claim was haunted, possibly by Rift Activity, but really, she was hoping the Spooky atmosphere might lead to Jack comforting her in his arms instead of The Teaboy. Surely that limpwrist had just enough pride in him to put up a brave front?

Instead, Gwen was treated to the spectacle of Jack cowering behind Ianto and clutching onto his arms. Jack was obviously feigning fright as an excuse to feel up Ianto, who was Not Having It, she caught The Teaboy stage whispering, "not in front of her", and then stormed off in a huff, her heels clicking loudly in her wake.

The walkway she was on now, was draped in low-hanging spiderwebs, and she bends to avoid them. When she hears Jack and Ianto calling her back, and she turned rapidly, ready to run into Jack's waiting arms, her elbow bumped into a lever, the lever attached to a metal valley her flowing long hair was dangling into.

The last words Gwen has ever heard was shouted by The Tea Boy, "Gwen! Kick the safety button in front of your feet!", but she was too busy automatically leaning forward with the pull to avoid split ends. The human skull being very hard, the meat grinder chokes on it and stops before the skull was even cracked, but the soft tissue of skin and muscles, Gwen's scalp and Gwen's face, was pulled into and stripped off the skull by the grinder.

Now Gwen's a ghost, and as she looked away from her carcass in disgust, glaring at Jack and Ianto who was laughing in shock, and feeling impotent when her attempt to slap them went right through, she was jolted back to reality by the sharpness of a bite at her toes through her heeled sandals.

The factory was well infested with rats, why didn't Gwen see that before?

Why doesn't Jack and Ianto notice the rats?

The rats ran through Jack and Ianto's legs as easily as Gwen's hands has passed through their cheeks.

Then Gwen screamed in horror, when she turned to find the bloody vision of the head cannibal from Brecons Beacons grinning her...he had holes in his cheeks, holes through skin and muscles all over, and he was grinning at her, between the bites he took out of the squealing rats in his hands.

"Ghost rats," he grinned, gesturing to the large squirming lakes of them on the first floor, "we may be dead but we all still need to eat."

He grabs for Gwen, and misses, or maybe he didn't, as she felt into the sea of thousands of small and sharp waiting mouths, she hears him laughing a very loud, happy laugh.

Bless their little hearts. Obviously reading full sentences or anything past a ship name before they get to the fic itself is beyond them.
