I just like those who've posted here have just came across a Gwack fic. But it wasn't your ordinary Gwack fic, it was one where Jack was involved with her because she's his Grandchild.  And what really bothers me is that the reviewers LIKED it.

When you say 'involved', I'm taking it that you don't just mean he was taking a familial interest in her life?

(then again, I once wrote a fic where Jack got his memories wiped because he'd spent two years shagging his way through his (distant) ancestral line, so I can't exactly criticize ;-)

As a committed Janto fan, I shudder and cringe at the thought, but at the same time I can't really condemn the story, either. I've read a couple of quite frankly brilliant fics where Ianto was actually Jack's son, and they still ended up in a sexual relationship.

It's kinda like the Supernatural 'Wincest' fics, that depict Sam and Dean as lovers. You either love it or you hate it.

same here. (I've only found two real janto incest fics, both brilliantly written and oh so delicious. yes, delicious) normally I recoil from incest fics of any kind (except for one pairing which is practically canon, so I guess I'm used to it), but if they're well-written I'll just shudder and move on.
there's a really creepy torchwood fic that had owen as jack's grandson impregnating jack and ianto's daughter while she's visiting them from the future. NO, REALLY. and even after they find out about said familial relations they keep going at it. and then it turns out that the baby is jack. or something. by that point I was about to start screaming at the computer screen so I have no idea how it turned out... *ahem* anyways, if it's well written I won't judge, considering that jack probably doesn't care about incest as much as us 21st century-goers do...

THere are some seriously odd fantasies out there! I always thought I had some strange ideas (which I AM NOT going to write about, incidentally!).... but, NO! There seem to be a lot of strange incestuous fantasies in some of these stories...perhaps my belief that incest and abuse are nowhere near as prevalent as the media would have us believe is completely unfounded...
And I second ceindreadh-I too would like to read this gem!

Why, thank you for being so quick! i've just read this now! Very strange, as were the reactions of the reviewers. A bit of a pity about the subject matter really, as I have read much worse (grammatically etc).
Strangely, I posted a comment on AGA a short while ago about a "Gwack" story that I stupidly read...and guess what? One of the reviewers for this was the author! I remember I looked at the ages of the reviewers/author for that one, so i'm off to have a bit of nosey-ing.....

To normal eyes it is, but to whomever wrote it, it seems it doesn't matter. As long as Jack and Gwen are together a little thing like incest is overlooked.

But then again, I'm as normal as the next fic reader, but at least mine is of the ordainary type. That is Jack and Ianto are not related in any way, shape of form.

Sure they are hot for one another, but well within the norms of convention.

But then again I do have my kink for a little bondage Janto fics, but who doesn't like a little tied up action;)

And people think janto is wrong? If that is wrong, i would love to know what this is because it is beyond it.

I mean, i am pretty open minded. The only thing i am not too sure about is anything to do with rape. If it fits the story and is done well and not graphic, then i am to a certain extent ok with it.

But this, it makes me feel ill. I mean, it does say a lot about the gwack fans, the fact that they find it acceptable, well, there is no answer to that.

I have to confess that I went and read it. Not only did I read it but I was compelled to leave a review (someone else had reviewed and asked for more chapters). I must admit that I was not nice. I couldn't get over Gwen sleeping with him when she suspected he was her grandfather and Rhys was not only resigned to the past affair (gave her permission reluctantly), accepted Jack's baby as his own but also was ok if their affair started again. I'm afraid I called her an incestous whore and Jack an uncomplementary name so well.

I'm not usually so mean but it was disgusting. I had to take a shower afterwards.

I've never been able to stomach incest. Sexual kinks are fine to a certain extent but I really have to draw the line at shagging my own grandfather, even if he's as hot as Jack. It's just too wrong. And Rhys... poor Rhys.

I'm a little curious, call it a morbid fascination if you want, but um... How did the baby turn out?

Careful with the criticisms, guys - I dislike the fic on principle for it being a Gwack fic, but there are a number of Janto incest fics out there, too, and some of them aren't actually a bad read. I don't like incest fics as a general rule, but I've also learned ever to say never. There's always an exception to every rule...
