Well, I had said that I fully intended to watch "Framed" starring Eve Myles, however after seeing innumerable trailers for it with EM feistily saying to Trevor Eve " YOU wouldn't know a thing of true BEAUTY if it was standing in front of you POKING YOU IN THE CHEST!!" (I may have got this wrong, slightly) I had decided I just couldn't cope!
In the end, Mr Wanda1969 and I ended up watching it, as there's wasn't much else on the TV.
Mercifully there was very liitle EM in it, and very little of her being TOO overbearingly "feisty". Basically this was a "kids' drama" shown at 8.30pm (it would have been better at 5.30pm on a Bank Holiday Monday). The children in it, our household agreed, carried the whole thing, and it was very funny in many cases! BBC drama humour in it's good old fashioned way- very enjoyable.
Now, before you get me wrong, I can state that I did find EM HIGHLY irritating...she managed to restrain the eye popping and rolling, but, again, her character was busy telling Trevor Eve's that he didn't understand "real" people. Trevor Eve didn't seem that distanced to me- mind you, it WAS his job to keep "the art safe"...he's wasn't a social worker, for goodness' sake. And, I've been to small villages all over the UK, and NO THEY DON'T HAVE MICHELIN STARRED RESTAURANTS etc. No wonder the poor man was in shock.
All in all, EM's character seemed like a bit of an afterthought to counterpoint Trevor Eve's "fish out of water" situation, provide a romantic interlude and AGAIN "make him human".....!!!
But if anyone DOES want to watch "Framed", I would say: it's not as bad as you might think. Mainly this is due to there not actually being very much EM in it!
Discuss if you want to, and if you could bear to watch it!!!!

EM managed to "do" a toned down version of Gwen, which I was thankful for!! But still, she was acting a role where she "knew better"...
Otherwise, I just thought that this was just a kid's drama wheer the kids were the ones who were gwtting one over on the adults... (although some things DID go wrong for them)..
And was that blooody Lois Hasbiba as hermione?????? If so, did the BBC just use ANY actresses in the Wales area for this production???
I could be wrong...I'd been at the Soave.... Hey ho!!

Still can't think what she would be like in the RSC as Lady Macbeth or something though.
I don't know how she does it- I have never had such an irrational dislike of a character/actress. Perhaps that is her skill!!! That was,of course, sarcasm...!

I know what you mean, I used to think of Gwen as the new Lana Lane (from Smallville), but I still like KK.

Oh God! and eye bulging and inapproriate/manic grinning...
I am ashamed to say I have no idea who KK is....!

Kristin Kreuk, the actress for Lana Lane, way prettier than EM, just google her up. The director/writer for Smallville said in an interview he likes her as well, except it was way creepier cause when SV started (casting, filming) she was still in highschool.

I can almost see where the casting folk were coming from...let's have an actress who ISN'T perfect... And normally I'd agree with that, however SOMETHING WENT WRONG!!
Character- FAIL
Not quite perfect looks- FAIL due to annoying overacting and so on....
Continuity of charcacter- FAIL
Kick arse woman- FAIL
Ability to carry a whole show- FAIL!!!

Ohh~ You should try and watch Red Cliff and it's sequel Red Cliff II . It have my idea of a kick arse woman or at least what I grew up with... :D http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_Shangxiang
Okay, it's more or less historical military and I loves it to bits, but you'll probably need to read subtitles since I'm not sure if there is an English dub.
