"It's not particularly a backlash. What's actually happening is, well, nothing really to be honest. It's a few people posting online and getting fans upset. Which is marvelous. It just goes to prove how much they love the character and the actor. People often say, 'Fans have got their knives out!' They haven't got any knives. I haven't been stabbed. Nothing's happened. It's simply a few people typing. I'm glad they're typing because they’re that involved. But if you can’t handle drama you shouldn’t watch it.

Hmm..."

He really dosn't seem to care about what he did to Ianto, and it just pisses me off. Even all the money from the SaveIantoJones.com dosn't seem to phase him.

It's not just him, either. All the bloody Gwackers and the part-time sci-fi viewers are positive that those of us who are up in arms are a squeaky little minority. Well, I'm sure that's what the PTB thought about the fans yelling about Daniel Jackson's demise in Stargate, and the cancellation of Firefly. And we all know what those campaigns achieved!
His dismissive attitude has all of us pissed off, and that might ultimately prove his downfall.

Personally, I felt sorry for John Barrowman who sat on a panel with him at ComicCon. Poor guy seemed embarrassed when RTD fobbed off the Save Ianto campaigns. John was very quick to praise the efforts that have raised over 3,000 pounds for Children in Need.

I am speechless. He is such an egotistical putz. He just continues to try to point out that he did not fuck up and all is good.

He's either got the biggest balls known to mankind or none at all, I can't decide.

That wasn't drama RTD. It was a big fuck you to all of us.

Oh but this was drama...it was a political drama. Too bad it was supposed to be a science fiction one.

Actually, at Comic Con, when someone brought up the coffee thing he started getting upset. John, thankfully, cut him off before things could get bad.

thank god for john. yet to listen to defenders of coe and rtd we are ones with the problems because of in ability to realize great drama. having come from one of the lists where questions about bad writing and the sense that the writers had not watched the first 2 seasons of their own show and rtd answers are fed back to me with no serious attempts to answer the questions, so here amoungest friends let me give voice to the thought of "don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining" and that is a expression i don't normally use.

Do you have a link to his website? The man is a great legend...in his own mind.

Well, we'll see how blase he is when the supposed season four tanks. Maybe then he'll reconsider his definition of 'minority'.
