I have just read a great article on AfterElton.com http://www.afterelton.com/TV/2009/7/buffy-versus-torchwood
It was an article that made sense and pointed out a lot of the problems people have with COE, I really enjoyed the article.

Then I got to the comments and found this http://www.afterelton.com/TV/2009/7/buffy-versus-torchwood?page=0,3#comment-84124

I now feel ill, and am really hoping that the author of the comment was being sarcastic.

I liked the article. Killing off Tosh, Owen, and Ianto in quick succession makes me think RTD doesn't know how to write drama in Torchwood without killing a character off.

My roommate got me into Buffy. I thought the show would be too young for me, but I like that the heart of the show is the characters and those characters are written well. There are repercussions for actions and characters grow.

As much as I like Torchwood, I think it could have learned a few things from Buffy. I don't worship at the temple of Joss Whedon. The show isn't perfect, but in the 3 seasons I've watched it hasn't yet given a plot that pissed me off with the shotty writing of Ianto's death.

I've never watched Buffy myself or anything that Weddon has wrote, or at least I don't think I have, but from what I have heard he's a good writer and also takes into account the fans.

I thought the article was great it was just that comment, how gwack could be considered the real love story of the show I have no idea.

Loved your comment. They may have picked what they want to see, while we see what is, but at least we can recognise what is put in front of us without warping it.

I don't know how anyone who is a Gwack fan could be thinking Gwack is going to happen in S4, or that it's the real love story of the show. Gwen's married and having another man's baby. Maybe that poster is watching the same show as Eve Myles is- the one where Gwack is like Moonlighting.

I know, I thought the exact same thing, if gwen and and jack where to become a couple in S4 what a message it would give. I mean the gwack is bad enough, but while married and having another Rhys' baby, it just shows that the gwack fans don't even have a moral standpoint from which they take gwen. Hey, adultry is fine as long as we get gwack.

But then again, gwen's character is known for it, PC Andy did ask who the father was in COE.

I think he/she was being sarcastic. Gwackers tend to have no sense of humor and the comment gave some inkling of it.

I know the sarcasm in the post was rather heavily laid down, I didn't really explain well enough in my post, but the idea even sarcastic made me feel ill, because as many of us can guess that this is the actual thoughts of the gwackers.

I'm almost 100% positive they were being sarcastic. Otherwise, they would not have started to label the Jack/Gwen 'romance' as awkward, and then corrected themselves to say romance.
It was definitely tongue in cheek.

caution sarcasm alert.
in the fine tradition of in torchwood i give you season 4 of rtd's torchwood.
it opens as gwen after saving the world single handed(who needs a team when gwen walks the earth) from a new race cyberweeveldelaeks rushs off to have her baby when(in the tradition of torchwood agents die young it is a dangerous job) rhys spots a crazed alice who throws something at gwen and dies a meaningful torchwood death by kebab.
jack hearing of the tragedy comes back to earth to comfort the brave, beautiful and stunning, grieving new widow and mother where upon looking at gwen's face he begs her forgiveness and confesses his true love and that ianto(ianto who) of the welsh vowels was only a poor replacement because he could not have the woman he loved because gwen would never give jack a second look or cheat on rhys.
cue the music- then gwen, baby and jack (now billed as sgs) rebuild torchwood until the season ender where the baby bites it(fans complain that baby never got a name) hey! torchwood is dangerous and a baby would interfere in the gwen storyline.
gwackers cheer wildly and accuse the few gen fans of not understanding "great drama ".

Nah - it was definitely sarcasm. It actually made me snicker a bit (even though I'm still mourning Ianto). Besides, I can't believe any true Jack/Gwen shipper would use name "Gwack". It just sounds so ridiculous! ;)
