Title: Fairground
Rating: Pg- m/m pairing what do you expect really?
Pairing: Jack/Ianto
Summary: A Torchwood trip to a fairground proves a success in more than one-way.
Disclaimer: Torchwood does not belong to me. But I’m not happy about that fact!
Authors note: Un-beta’d so please (pretty please) excuse any mistakes you may find. Also one of my first Gwen bashing fics so please be kind.

‘Please Ianto. Just half an hour.’

Both Gwen and Jack were looking at the more sensible teammate who stood, hands on his hips, eyes closed, shaking his head.

‘The weevil…?’

‘Go on pet you’ll have fun. Just let bloody loose.’

Ianto looked from his teammates to the entry gate before relaxing his shoulders and letting out a sigh. Jack took his chance grabbing Ianto’s arm and dragging him through the gate.

You’d think in all his time on earth Jack had got his fill of places like this but apparently not.

The fairground. In truth Ianto did need to let go a bit but having a subdued weevil in the back of the SUV that could wake up at any moment wouldn’t leave his mind. That was until Jack’s hand entwined with his own in a very casual but obvious display of their ‘relationship’. Ianto lost all thoughts of the weevil and was suddenly too wrapped up with Jack.

‘Maybe just for an hour…’

Gwen ran off straight for the shooting game. Ianto kept telling her it was unfair that she had such an advantage but she was just desperate to always win the biggest bear saying how they reminded her of Rhys or something sickening along those lines. Ianto couldn’t help but notice how she lingered hoping Jack would follow her like a trained puppy and win the bear for her. He didn’t and her toothy grin faltered slightly as she left.

Ianto stayed back slightly trying to decide where the best place for an at least half decent coffee would be. He didn’t have much time for a deliberation as Jack, still gripping his hand, dragged him toward the haunted house.

‘Jack no… please they’re so…’

‘Two please.’

Before Ianto had another chance to argue he was thrown into his seat and they were secured in.

The two small doors opened and they were on their way. Most haunted houses were the same and Ianto could almost predict everything that was about to happen. Or so he thought. Screams filled the air and Jack laughed at the cheesiness of it all pulling Ianto to him and kissing him deeply. But Ianto hesitated. He could have sworn that scream sounded close and extremely realistic.

‘I think we have another place to add to the list Ianto…’

‘Not here Jack please. We don’t know how long the ride even takes… there could be cameras as w…’

Jack silenced Ianto with another dominating kiss pushing the young man against the opposite side of their small car. Ianto wanted to push away but as much logic as it made his groin told him to do otherwise. He grabbed Jack’s greatcoat making the other man press closer.

‘ah, Ianto ah…’

Jack shifted back the pole sticking into his side.

‘Not exactly the pole I was hoping would be sticking into me.’

Jack grinned and flipped open his wrist strap which in turn released the metal bar that was previously tightly over their laps. Wolfs, vampires and witches watched as Jack’s frantic hands met Ianto’s.

More screams filled the air as the machine took a juddering halt. The lovers cart was now toward the top of the ride a few more inches and they’d be on the upper, and outside, level of it. Jack broke away from Ianto their hands still connected. Ianto went to pull Jack back down but then he too realised that the machine had stopped.

‘What’s…’

Jack placed a hand over Ianto’s mouth hushing him gently before helping him out of the cart. The young man straightened his suit and went to reach for his gun. It was back in the SUV. Damn.

Both men moved cautiously Jack had his gun raised and Ianto was simply following, his fists would have to do he supposed. A zombie lurched forward as Ianto tried to push his way through the doors the cart would normally barge through. He jumped slightly clinging onto Jack’s coat making the older man chuckle deep in his throat and wrap an arm around Ianto’s shoulder briefly.

Jack signalled Ianto and together they heaved the doors open onto the rooftop. Looking down there were yet more screams.

‘What’s going on…’

‘Oh god.’

Ianto pointed just to the right of the haunted house. Gwen was still by the shooting range but she seemed to have a little guest.

‘I told you this was a bad idea.’

Ianto was never one for ‘I told you so’s but on this occasion he just had to say it. The weevil had woken up; it had escaped and apparently chewed through plenty of the fair ground rides wires. The big wheel had stopped, lights had gone out and the haunted house was working but the carts were no longer moving most probably due to the mutilation of the man who was supposed to be manning it.

‘So we need to get down there and stop it…’

Ianto assessed his options of simply climbing down it rather than going through the entire haunted house on foot trying to push the heavy doors. Jack grinned holding his gun up with both hands and aiming.

‘You can’t be serious!? What about civilians? You could miss the weevil all together from this range!’

‘Come on Ianto when have I ever missed that one, sensitive spot before? And I think my weapon is more than capable of such a powerful shot.’

Jack’s voice was laced with innuendo as he leaned forward and rolled his hips into Ianto’s. Distracting Ianto was one of Jack’s best talents. So when the young man was occupied enough with having to adjust his trousers Jack took quick yet careful aim and fired.

‘Shit!!’

‘Jack what the hell did you just do…’

Jack looked back at Ianto his face guilty yet slightly amused.

‘Well on the good side the weevil was scared off and I’m guessing it’s ran off away from the public… on the erm… ‘bad’ side I just shot Gwen.’

Ianto stood his mouth wide open for a few seconds before Jack began speaking again.

‘So that means that everyone is going to be occupied with sorting Gwen out for a while then. And that weevil will be long gone by now…’

Ianto quirked his eyebrow smirking slightly as Jack pushed him back against the witches broom and devoured his mouth.

FIN x

I guess Jack can see the bright side of anything! I'm sure Gwen moved at the last minute and got in the way, it certainly wasn't Jack's fault ;)

Oops. LOL, poor Jack. I hope he doesn’t feel too guilty over what I’m sure was just an unfortunate accident. *cough* Guess she won’t be needing that teddy bear now, will she...?
