Yep, "starring eve myles", nevermind that it's supposed to be John Barrowman's spin-off show. I can see RTD sinking the ship, before escaping in a plane off to Hollywood.

If he was leaving he should have found someone else to take over, someone who wouldn't do such lame moves and would put Gwen in her place. >_>

I kind of do. I mean, how can a UK newspaper make that sort of mistake? I always thought John was pretty effectively asscoiated with the show there before anyone else.

it's very unlikely RTD will take Hollywood by storm. he's made pitches to our industry for years and never gotten a second look.

the only work he'll get here will be from his BBC Wales friends that now head scripted television for BBC Worldwide, which just happens to be headquartered in Los Angeles.

Why do I get the feeling that he was sacked. You just don't quit a place and move house just 2 days after your show just ends.

Way too easy. Maybe one too many complaints, overall ratings
not good enough? Have fun here in the States where money talks and BS walks.

I thought leaving JB out of the article may have been a fact finding error.

Sacked? Interesting, I didn't even think of it that way. I would love some statement from him or John about the crap they pulled in this episode.

I though BBCA was airing the show at the same time as the UK - do the spoilers on boards matter? I wasn't sure which theread you were referring to there.

SJA - :( I don't follow that one - but the comments in there said they did the current spoiler you pointed out once before - sorry about the ridiculous wording here, I didn't want to spoile anyone.

I really don't blame John or Gareth or even Eve. Watching the clip of Eve and Gareth on this past Monday it looked like they were struggling to say aything to get themselves in trouble. I wonder if there's a clause in their contracts
about a timetable of when/where they can reveal everything.

No in the States we are to recieve it on the 20th of July, but of couse I couldn't wait. Wish I did though, but then again not.

Over here we hust got HD, we were supposed to get it March, but it was delayed. Maybe that caused the programme to be shifted to another month/day in the UK.

And yes I do think that their clearing the decks for Moffats
Doctor Who. I just wish I weren't.

Correct. Writers as well. My only experience with BBC is from the late 1980s and then we had a percentage of our salary withheld until after the series aired. Depending on who you were, it could be as much as 25%.

Kills off our a wonderful character, for many a favourite character, and then runs for the hills! Sounds about right. With thousands of angry Ianto and Janto lovers here it sounds the safest thing to do! Of course there are also many Ianto and Janto lovers in America too.

Also, yeah, the first think I noticed when I read this article was the "starring Eve Myles" thing. Grrrrr! It no bloody surprise they think she's the star, that's how she's been portrayed.

don't forget, RTD is supposedly going to show up at ComicCon in San Diego and his appearances are scheduled for Friday-- the day after Day Four of Children of Earth airs.

yeah. doubt he'll show.
