Consider my rant to be a spoiler for season three of torchwood. Onto writing some fanfic



RTD You created one of the greatestpairing with Janto but you made like it was a dirty little secret we had Gwen and Rhys doing normal thing like laying in bed together or having a meal we never got that with Janto.

When COE started I thought we finally might get what we all wished for, you couldn't even let Jack say I love you when Ianto died, and at the end when he said goodbye to Gwen there wasn't even that little extra for Ianto or his grandson and I bet if Jack is back in Dr Who Ianto's name will not be mentioned if it is it won't be in a loving relationship way.

You also made it hard to like Gwen cause Jack kept eyeing her and in every episode it revolved around her than anyone else and you get a bit sick of it. Ianto's character was not seen much in season one but look how the fans still loved him. You had to destroy that one thing that would have kept us going if there wasn't going to be a season four. Were you sick of torchwood and wanted to go onto something new, did you think there was not going to be a season 4 and decided to go out with a bang. I feel as a fan so betrayed by you. You always wrote Ianto as second best to Gwen. You were wrong, very wrong.

It was infuriating the way Gwen was used to do everything in COE, plus getting lovey-dovey moments with Rhys, while Jack & Ianto got nothing in most episodes. And am I the only one wondering why it had to be Gwen giving naked Jack Rhys' coat in the quarry? Wouldn't it have made more sense if Ianto had taken off his yellow jacket and given that to Jack? "Can't have you wandering around naked, can we? You're worrying Rhys." Just something between them! But no, everything needing doing, Gwen did if she was on screen (and she was even more than Jack, who's supposed to be the star.)
RTD has always said he dislikes fans and fandom (which is stupid for someone who's making a TV show) so I think killing Ianto was his way of thumbing his nose at the people who put him where he is today and made his show popular enough to get a shot at being on BBC1. Sort of "I own the characters so I'm going to kill off your favourite because I can and there's nothing you can do about it." He's no doubt laughing at the 'pathetic fans who don't have a life' (his opinion, not mine) getting all angry and upset about the death of a fictional character. Well I'm not just upset and angry about that, I'm also upset about the death of what could have been (if properly handled) a brilliant, long-running TV show. RTD squandered Torchwood's potential in favour of rating and the chance to have his show on BBC1.
Apologies for the long rant, but right now I can't seem to stop, I feel so angry, disgusted and betrayed.

Woo! Nicely said. The Janto stuff was like a dirty secret. The only time we ever got to see them being more intimate than just a kiss was when (of course) Gwen walked in on them, which was played as a joke due to Jack and Ianto being "caught out."

We got to see proper couple intimacy with Gewn and Rhys, Owen and Diane, hell even Tosh and Tommy got a breif scene in To the Last Man. We never got to see Jack and Ianto making love, or even just cuddling in bed together.

Thank you i just hate the way they did that. I suppose that is why i write so much fanfic and do fanvids.

I just wish they could have given us more like we heard on the dead line radio episode that between Jack and Ianto was beautiful

Oh yeah, that monologue was so beautiful, and it made me tear up back when I first heard it. I don't know if I could bear to listen to that again now. I'd be crying buckets knowing what's to come. We definitely needed more of that in the show.
