I was just browsing the revamped BBC Torchwood website, when i stumbled across Gwen's charachter profile. I wondered what you would all make off it, particularly the last 2 words!!

I almost choked when I read the words Deputy Leader - have we been fooled all this time into believing Owen was it when clearly Gwen is the most capable according to the extremely accurate and well thought out script writers.

UGH! How many chances does one woman get - and she s still classed as Deputy Leader. Forcing her way into the job in the fisrt place, the alien sex gas, cheating on her boyfriend, nearly getting run over, gets shot, opens the rift, tells her boyfriend and the retcons him... and that's not even a comprehensive list.

That character wouldn't know poceedure if it bit her on the arse!

Deputy leader? I thought among many others, that Owen was...were we just lead on to believe that when Gwen will probably go and rub it in his face that he isn't?

When I read this I was amazed. Then I was horrified. I always thought Gwen was a useless pile of scheiße and so did most folk I mentioned it to. I told my husband who watched Torchwood with me and our oldest son and he laughed. We all thought Owen was deputy leader. Is this the same Gwen we saw in season one? The useless idiot? The one with the unfixed teeth?

Yup, I think she's the same Gwen.

Maybe the writers for the site had concussion or something and forgot what an annoying bint Gwen is.

But maybe she'll be better in season two. Perhaps she will have sorted out her priorities, and so will spend more time with Rhys, won't cheat on him again, will not make so many potentially life-threatening mistakes and generally become a more valued member of the team.

Then again maybe not, I don't hold out much hope.
